It's most likely because when the n-word is used it is used with much less of a hateful tone than when ****** is used.

Because the white gay population of ATRL, just like the white gay population in real life, likes to feel the most oppressed. They enjoy acting like they were there for Stonewall or something. For whatever reason, they feel like there's some sort of Oppression Olympics, ignoring the fact that racial and sexual minorities should support each other (and the fact that there are many POC who also happen to be LGBT). Annoying but typical.

a big difference between homophobia is that your family, a critical support group, will never not support you for being black, but they can definitely and often disown and/or treat you differently after finding out you are gay.

I think both words are completely unacceptable, even within the respective black and gay communities. Those aren't JUST words. They are words that are laced with DECADES (and centuries) of violence, hatred, and are used with the AIM to degrade an individual's HUMANITY. It isn't hard to stop using a word. Especially a word that has such a long history of violence.

I have a question that has been bugging me for awhile. Where I'm from Hispanics(mainly Puerto Ricans) use the n word (in form ending with a) all the time. Do they get a pass because they're Hispanic? I've always wondered why they can say it no matter how light their skin might be, at least where I'm from.

Well I live in NYC(lived in Harlem and The Bronx) they do seem to get a pass here. I can only think because they're a minority too and Hispanics aren't as linked to racism against black like whites are(at least in America). I also thought that too.

Well, let's say, black people say the N word all the time and even put it in songs. Homosexuals don't really say the F word. So if the N word is so widely used today, it's mostly the black people's fault.

Damn, when will some of you realize that not all black people use the n word or tolerate it being used by anyone in or outside their race. Like, do all you people know of is rap music and people that live in the hood or something? Say the n word around the wrong person and I'm sure you'll get clocked or knocked out, especially from an older/mature black person. You cannot tell one individual black person what they can and cannot be offended by just because another uses the word.
