It's totally fine.
People wear leather, yet they complain about fur?
The hell!

I don't have a problem with it per se. I only have a problem with it if the animals had a horrible life and/or suffered a cruel death

We don't need to use the internet, yet you are here using up electricity that is probably supplied by a nuclear powerplant or by fossil fuel, which is also selfish... you are destroying the environment by being here, see how that works? Practically everything humans do is selfish ![rolleyes](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

the animal used for leather is also used for meat, so it’s not considered a waste..............
leather would have more uses as well ![rolleyes](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Except hundreds of thousands of birds get killed by windmills annualy, the salmon, and other fish, are endangered by dams that supply electricity yet kill the fish during the process, people cut down rain forests to get to fossil fuels, endangering/wiping out entire species in the process, water temperature is rising because of all the exhaust gasses and animals are dying because of that and entire species are threatened, people use medicines which end up in the water and finally end up killing animals, GURL, just SIT if animals used for fur are the only ones you care about. You should fight for all or just none at all, cuz that would make you a hypocrite. Also, there are actually animals used for fur who have a very good life and a painless death, which is, as I already stated, when I don't have a problem with it... if they suffer it's not okay

Am I reading posts that claim eating meat is the same as wearing fur?
|
Are you a vegetarian? Do you eat meat? All i'm saying is, if your answer is yes to ANY of those questions, you are an absolute hypocrite.
1. It's not cruel, these animals are brought up in conditions more humane than KFC, McDonalds, most meat farms etc
2. Fur is about how is looks, not just about keeping warm.
3. Why is eating meat of animals brought up in cramped, inhumane conditions, and using cosmetic products tested (or tortured as you should put it) on animals OK, but as soon as minks are very humanely killed after being brought up in MUCH better conditions its a problem. NO ONE, has answered this question. You say fur is unecessary....but so is meat and cosmetic products. Utter hypocrisy if you ask me.

If the animal has been used fully, the fur coat is fine by me. Many of the companies use the meat in pet food (or some zoos and wild life sanctuaries receive the meat for their carnivores), some paint uses what is left over from animals harvested for fur, so does some soaps.
Not all fur companies go out and skin animals for fun or torture. Many of them are responsible and put the full animal to use. Anyone who wears leather and has a problem with people who wear fur.... ![Bibliotheque](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/atrlers/biblio_zps23dff242.gif)

Tiger's organs, pelts, and bones are highly regarded in eastern medicine although it has been proven that they have no real medical value. Some hunts could be really "easy" and "not painful" and the animal is killed almost instantly. Does that make trading the bones and organs of an endangered animal species all right?
Eating meat, wearing fur, animal testing and poaching are different topics so don't mix any of them because they all have their own issues. And if you think people care less about animal testing than wearing fur or eating meat, think again:
|
I used minks as an example, specifically American minks that arent endangered (far from it, in fact after being introduced to EU they have made European minks endangered due to competition) I dont believe Tigers should be killed, since like you said theyre endangered, have no SPECIAL benefit only they can bring. Youre bringing up random examples no one will support obviously. I mean minks =/= tigers. When minks are killed theyre bodies are actually put to use, eastern medicine is mostly ********, so it isnt put to use, so my point stands.
And as for the last part, YES THEY DO. Its the whole point of the thread. You may be a vegetarian, but lots of people who eat factory farmed, inhumanely raised animals or use cosmetic products are against fur, which is hypocritical. This thread is asking more to people who actually eat meat. Like i said before, if your a vegan or vegetarian and is against fur and dont wear cosmetic products, then fine, you make complete sense.

Exactly, so many myths perpetuated. Humanely killed animals for their fur is wrong, but animals tested on in labs for your lip stick/ animals cramped into cages then killed for your meat is fine - the logic of a lot of people.

What if someone goes out and shoots a bear, saves the bear for eating later, and wears the fur?
How is that bad? It's more ethical than cows in a slaughterhouse or animals raised specifically for fur.

not if you wear the fur of an animal killed solely for that purpose just because you think it looks nice.
