It's all based on assumption with no concrete evidence to back up their claims though. Her next era is in no way connected to 21, it could just as easily "flop" and sell well under one million. I hope not though, she really has talent and deserves the success.

Taylor could do no promo, but she would never do digital only because she has always been an advocates for physical records. She has talked about the importance and value of physicals and I would honestly be shocked if LP5 was digital only.
I think Adele will have minimal promo next album, but i don't think well get official news about the release nit labour 2-3 weeks before, solely because they will have had to mass distribute the cd to markets, and that runs the risk of the album leaking. I don't know if Adele is the type of artist to do digital only or not, but she strikes me as someone who also values physical copies, even though 21 is like the highest selling digit album ever or something.. Idk...
I think taylor and Adele will have very unique and different ways of dropping the album, though.

Disagree with BB ! she doesn t have the starpower of doing it ! remember that 21 was a slow burner on charts, not frontloaded at all; even when Rolling In The Deep broke audiences records, 21'* sales were steady and solid through weeks !

You need to have a powerful starpower to do it, Adele doesn t have real hardcore fans but she has more casual listeners. She still needs promo or a single that sold the album. That being said, with the right single actually, she can come for Brit's record.

It would actually be a better move instead of the traditional type of release. Releasing a single before the album that will obviously not be as huge as Rolling in the Deep, would make a lot of people to lose interest. But if she releases an album out of nowhere people would immediatly think the album is just like 21 and I bet it would even brake Brit's first weeks record.

I kinda think she could. But not exactly with the same tactic. Advertise her album everywhere two weeks prior, announce the date and I think she could sell more than 1M first week.

Yes, but in the first week of red, almost 80% was physical sales tho.

I was just teasing. But regardless, Adele is still more successful. Adele has a Golden Globe, an Oscar, 9 Grammy awards, three number-one singles, and a Diamond album. I love Taylor, but she's not on Adele's level. I think Taylor is going to do well if she releases this year, but Adele will do better because her music appeals to more audiences and she's had more success. Her success was so huge that even if she tried to flop, the album would still sell like crazy.
