15. CocoRosie - Tales Of A Grass Widow
I'll probably always be waiting for sisters Bianca and Sierra to create another masterpiece like
The Adventures Of Ghosthorse And Stillborn, but they released another very enjoyable album this year. Their music is so weird and interesting.
14. Lecca - Top Junction
J-Pop/J-Reggae singer Lecca released this album only a week ago so it was hard to place it, but it is definitely my favorite Japanese album of the year. I don't think it's as good as last year's
ZOOLANDER, but her style is so awesome and her music consistently great.
13. John Legend - Love In The Future
I checked out the album after stumbling upon the awesome "Made To Love", and I was not disappointed. R&B at its finest. I especially love "We Loved It", his duet with Seal.
12. Avril Lavigne - Avril Lavigne
This might just be Avril's best album. "Rock N Roll" is by far her best song ever, and the album has so many other gems like "Give You What You Like", "Hush Hush" and "Hello Kitty". Her sales might be collapsing with every era, but there's nothing wrong with the quality of her output.
11. Janelle Monáe - The Electric Lady
At first I was disappointed by
The Electric Lady, it was so different from
The ArchAndroid, less experimental. But then it grew on me more and more, and now I'm not even sure which of the two is better. This album has so many great songs, great melodies. Naming the standout tracks is difficult, but I'll go with "PrimeTime", "Dorothy Dandridge Eyes" and "Victory".
