ALL that I'm trying to say is that there are reasons why the album is selling so well and no promo isn't all that a great excuse to bolster Bey up to high heavens!

When she did the Superbowl, she's just promoting everything about her, not just her tour exclusively. Because of the Superbowl, because of the Pepsi commercials, because of the tour, the name Beyonce somewhat gets stuck onto everyone's mind this year. So when she drops an album all of a sudden, it's not like people weren't bothering about Beyonce before that.

Yes Beyonce did have the right promo she had. Maybe you won't call it promo, fine, cos what she did isn't explicitly trying to promote the album. It's a marketing strategy, a really brilliant one.

That's something Taylor wouldn't do, I mean, she lacks that global appeal Bey has. Even if she's selling 10 or 15 copies in small countries, it's still a great accomplishment. For example, in Venezuela, almost a 80% of the population know who Beyoncé is, while 15% know who Taylor is. Swift will always need tons of promo outside of the US to accomplish something like that.

Try: her proven talent, large fan base, etc

Usually people promote their tour through their album sales, not the other way around lol (even tho MDNA did) but that's exactly what B didn't wanna be compared to. Lord knows she would not have heard the end of it had she released like MDNA. She would've been deemed a copy cat.

So she waited to the hype from tHat died down then released without warning and promo

Look... I'm not necessarily proud of her no promo campaign. I'm accustomed to seeing her on tv shows, magazine covers, etc right before an album came out, but since she did not take the traditional route like she normally would have, I'm not about to let Taylor Swift and other stans take this accomplishment away from her.

What last part, there is hardly any Taylor stan who cares that she sold 262,000 copies. As a matter of fact, even as a Taylor stan, I didn't knew she sold that much on the first day till someone mentioned it in the charts thread today.
And as I have said before, Beyonce feat is more impressive but Taylor accomplishment was not that bad either

Beyoncé's album is only available as an album only option right now so that helps her sell more copies. Plus it is being promoted heavily online by iTunes and other sites that talk about the strategy to release an album without anything leaking.

Taylor did have promo and she is bigger than Bey so I'd say both feats are about equal in my mind.

I mean even if Taylor could match or outdo the numbers, be honest with yourselves Swifties, she could never put down the vocals, the dancing, the ****ing awesomeness of this album/videos. She doesn't match Bey's talent so therefore Bey's feat would be more impressive.

It'd be like Bieber outselling Timberlake because of a larger fanbase, even if Timberlake would probably deliver a more superior body of work.
