Top Albums 40-36
So, as I was telling you on my intro, this year I've been more focused on listening to full albums. This year I was able to listen to over 100 albums, out of which most of the half are from 2011 or older.
This albums countdown contains a couple of albums from 2011, which even though are old, I enjoyed a lot in 2013. In addition, you'll find albums from both 2012 and 2013 mixed up throughout the whole countdown. We will divide the albums countdown in two sections: Close calls (albums 40-21) and Top 20 albums. I hope you enjoy it, and if you have any suggested albums, just let me know.
#40. Armin Van Buuren - "Intense" (2013)

First time I heard this album was in May, a few days before my birthday. It was still sunny, and trance and sunny weather usually make a good combo. Unfortunately, that sunny weather lasted less than 30 days, and so did my interest for this album. Very enjoyable trance album, though.

Forever Is Ours

Waiting For The Night

Beautiful Lie
#39. The Men - "Open Your Heart" (2012)

Next up, coming from Brooklyn, this punk record from The Men is an album I recall discovering thanks to a 2012 YECD. Eventually, since I got more into softer genres in 2013, I stopped listening to it with frequency by the end of March.
Top 3 tracks:

Turn It Around

Candy

Ex-Dreams
#38. Bleached - "Ride Your Heart" (2013)

Perhaps the main reason it didn't chart high was that I found the vocals very similar to either Best Coast or Dum Dum Girls. As something that couldn't stand out on its own, it eventually fell down and got less plays from me.
Top 3 tracks:

Outta My Mind

Love Spells

Looking For A Fight
#37. Mazzy Star - "Seasons Of Your Day" (2013)

It's so sad to see this album so low ranked. A part of me says it should have been higher. I first listened to
Seasons Of Your Day less than a month ago, and it was starting to grow on me. Sadly, it was not enough for it to rank high on this list. For those who are not familiar with Mazzy Star, they are a Californian band of dream pop/alternative rock, whose most famous song is the 90's melancholy classic "Fade Into You."

California

I've Gotta Stop

Common Burn
#36. Paramore - "Paramore" (2013)

We finish this set with Paramore's latest album, Paramore. After listening to their first single, "Now", I knew it was going to have a different sound. I enjoyed quite some songs from the album, but other than that, it was an okay album. As an anecdote, I bought the first three Paramore records while I was in Buenos Aires. I'm so glad I have them with me now!

Ankle Biters

Hate To See Your Heart Break
