Um, I get that a lot. People always question my race as if I'm not African-American. Like, just today someone said they don't consider me a "black person". I have no clue what it meant but I guess I'll take it as a variation of reverse racism (?).
Yes, I always get that. It's like there's no possible way that you're black whether it be looks or personality wise.
I'm guessing it had to do with the way I talk and the music I listen to, but it's still racist and generalizing...
Yes when working in customer service, some black people would call me racist if I couldn't do something they wanted due to company policies.... I never said anything about race or skin color, so they were the ones being racist
Yes, at my old job. This white couple needed a pen to sign their receipt so I handed the husband one
from behind the counter. His wife looked at him and said "Are you really gonna touch that wetback's pen?"
(Never mind the fact I'd just rung up all their **** ) She then knocked is out of his hand and ordered me to pick it up. He husband just sat there staring.
I told her to go **** herself and to get out of my line. She said some more racist **** and went and got
the manager. They sent me home that day.
YES. Being a Mexican American that speaks Spanish, reads, writes etc, everyone assumes I'm straight up Mexican so I hear everything they'd normally hear. Most Chicanos I come across dont speak it... . I also used to have this racist ass boss from Kansas City. he would always say "cultural shock". What kinda ****. Smh
