I think you're just being delusional if you don't believe CIL won't be remembered more than Umbrella. Not only was it a hit but it had cultural impact and to make it even better it was Beyonce's debut solo song. It you think that won't make it more memorable that Umbrella, then you're wrong.
Umbrella was a hit song but the way Rihanna's career is, it just feels like she has hits upon hits and no real career defining song that people will remember her for. Beyonce has at least SL and CIL at this point and Love on Top may have some small effect when recalling Blue Ivy's existence down the line.
Crazy In Love.
Rihanna releases too much singles in too short time to make them iconic remembered classics.
At this moment too, the GP doesn't remember Umbrella as good as CIL.
Both will be remembered though. Time will learn
The horn sample alone is more iconic than "ella ella eh eh eh" and Beyonce's legacy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rihanna's
you have to have a delusional dislike for Beyonce to even think otherwise
Umbrella? When was the last time anyone heard or even thought about Umbrella?
You, just now
But the same could be said about CIL it's only in people's mind because she just performed it at the superbowl in front of 100 million people. It still wont be as remembered as Umbrella I think Beyonce has songs that will be way more remembered than CIL. (Ex. Single Ladies)
It has the iconic horns, the dance associated with it, the fact that Beyonce often uses it as her major song, the collaboration between one of the biggest celebrity couples of all time, etc.
