It seems very silly and premature to rule her out entirely after just a couple of flop singles (that are both now nearing platinum status in the United States), especially considering one of them wasn't promoted.
Yes, it's not like she was a one hit wonder. She's had plenty of successful singles but this era was just handled very messily. She has made a name for herself and people know who she is - she just had zero promo for this album because RCA didn't want to make it.
Her next album will probably be a lot more commercial and she'll get all her rock-style music with Lip$ha and probably be happier.
