Apparently Goodbye to Innocence was originally meant to be on Erotica as track #2 which was scrapped in favor of "Fever". A mistake in my opinion as Fever shouldn't even have been a single, as much as I love the album version though.
"Goodbye To Innocence" appears as well on the rare Madonna promotional CD:
Just Say Roe is not a Madonna CD but a Sire Records compilation about:
Quote:
It was conceived specifically as a pro-choice album, put together by Sire after a letter from a listener (named only as Todd) suggested the title and praised Sire for their willingness to tackle other politically sensitive issues (including freedom of expression, voter registration, and AIDS education).
Quote:
Originally released in 1994, Just Say Roe was the seventh and final in the Just Say Yes series from Sire Records. It contained primarily non-album tracks of artists on the label, most of which were alternative rock, but also included some pop and dance.

^^ Thanks, I was almost sure it was not 100% Madonna related but it was so late at night I didn't feel like going into the details by doing much research. I wonder if the rest of the CD is any good..I saw it on "madonnashop.com" is that even M's site?

Definitely gonna grab The Beast Within, Cyber-Raga, and Goodbye to Innocence though. Those (along with Across the Sky ) are definitely the best of the night for me
I'm glad you participated, you sent in great songs and one of them was a track that I wanted to comment on (not saying yet which one) but chose a different one to give a wider range.
Erotica is a MUST listen, once you can get into it: welcome to the world of Madge
If any one of you is here for this, saw that some people are on who missed it live yesterday, so I will update
moving on but comments to already listened to songs are very welcome

Can you believe she didn't put this amazing track on an album? Some would say it's better than all of the MDNA + hard candy shows put together. She co wrote this duet with her brother in law, singer-songwriter Joe Henry. definitely a must listen! Both could make a wonderful album just the 2 of them. And again: vocally this is Madonna at her best.
serve the comments on this dreamy, vulnerable gem of a duet!
Henry's wife talked him into letting her send Madonna a demo of his song "Stop," which was reworked and recorded as "Don't Tell Me" (from Madonna's 2000 album Music). Henry's own tango-tinged version of the song appeared on Scar and was featured in an episode of "The Sopranos." Henry and his sister-in-law recorded a duet, "Guilty By Association," on the charity album Sweet Relief II: Gravity of the Situation, and collaborated on the songs "Jump" on Confessions on a Dance Floor, "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" on Hard Candy, and "Falling Free" on MDNA.
This is the CD it appeared on:
We will soon head to the final part of "Part 1: Nothing but the Best from the 80s to 2000s, summing up the Queen of Pops rare recording career". The next one is pretty damn good.
Thanks and I know it doesn't actually belong here but some people decided it's underrated so I included "underrated" singles in the end due to the lack of / limited number of replies I received. 2 more of her singles will appear later on.
One of the songs that got submitted the most... and the worthy final song of Part 1.

Description/Review:
Subomie:
Obviously written in the aftermath of American Life, it's actually better than most songs on the Confessions album. Its lyrics are actually insightful and the use of the robotic voice adds another layer to it.
Miguel:
This song stood out to me. It should have been included on Confessions. Could have been a hit for her.
Swag:
Madonna giving a positive message and once again defying the United States and other tyrannies, fearless, even after she had just been boycotted by the U.S. for her politically charged 'American Life'. The label probably chose to NOT include the track on COAD since what it speaks is too true and too real. WB wanted to keep things 'light' this time and to avoid getting the globalists mad for a chance of COAD to do well (the globalists own the media so if the album speaks true they boycott it).
serve the comments on this outstanding, well produced bop with a great message!

I respect the choices since everyone is entitled to their taste, but you guys are highlighting what are, in my opinion, the most obscure and non-eventful tracks.

I forgot about ist existance until you guys reminded me.
Thank God you did, it's like even one of the best tracks from Confessions + from her 2000s stuff in general It's a shame Warner played it save... wish it would have been a European bonus track or something + pootenitally be performed on tour at least as an interlude. Imagine her video, wow.
nevertheless I'm grateful someone submitted "Guilty by Association" I stan for this type of songs + I wouldn't mind a Joe Henry/Madge collaboration EP.

I think it's a great song to close a concert. My dream concert closes with Celebration (album version) and this version of History.
Yes either the Celebration album version or not at all... Madge should have served "Like a Prayer" as final tour closer
I was there and well...
Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed Part 1!
Let us bop our way to Part 2 some more with this amaziiing remix of "History".
Hint of the next part coming soon. But for now: I demand to bop
Welcome to Part 2 of "Actions Speak Louder Than Words: A Madonna Rarities Listening Event".
Most of the upcoming rare recordings will have a darker Sound, not all of them though, so it's a good mix.
If you enjoy a special song, tell us and comment,

Unfortunately, this gem is not on the main album - and exclusive to just Japan as an int. bonus track, but the song is an anthem for the lonely. Longing for your one, true sole mate out in this earth - a quest with no map.
( madonnas had nothing to add )
