Chill Bill and Frozen, it would be nice if you sent a link to your Last Fm. Though it's not required since some people have links in their signature like AshleeSimpsonFan

I'm extending the deadline to 11 PM tonight.
But if someone doesn't send in by then, then they are automatically eliminated.

Welcome to the first round PUBLIC VOTE!
But first there are five people that didn't submit on time, and therefore, they are eliminated. They are:
Janelle Monae
Sunderland 4ever
Josh_23
niksan55
jone631
Bye guys.
Now onto the Final 17 people that submitted.
The entries:
AshleeSimpsonFan: Avicii - Levels
Quote:
I chose this song because its message is very simple... always see the positive side of things, and it's what I always do
Also the song is 100% electronic, my favorite musical genre, and it represents my whole last.fm page
|
Regina George: Florence + The Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name)
Quote:
I decided to start with Spectrum (Say My Name) by Florence and the Machine. Why? Because I love pop and dance music, those are the main sound that I enjoy but aren't the only sound that I listen, I also like indie, country, hip-hop, alternative music. That's why I thought this song will be great for this round, Spectrum (Say My Name) begins like the first version of the song and then the remix of Calvin starts, from indie pop, soft rock to electro-pop and dance. And I also think that the british pop is better, if you see my last.fm my Top 3 are british acts and another reason why this song can introduce me, Calvin and Florence are from the UK.
|
Mr. Loco: Lady GaGa f. Beyonce - Telephone
Quote:
Hello, hello baby....
My lastfm account is mostly full of pop, but I think this is one of the most representative songs of my account, because is just Gaga in of her biggest collaboration ever with super talented Beyonce
Another reason I think this is a good choice is because it has a litte of many other scrobbled songs, like Gwen Stefani's 'What you Waiting for' or Timbaland 'The Way I Are'
|
MunyKen: Rita Ora - Radioactive
Quote:
Hello,
I'm Paul, or you can just call me MunyKen. I am a Nicki Minaj stan that also favor other artist. Here is my last.fm. I love lots of different types of music. Im more of a upbeat type of song lover but i have my moments when i listen to my softies. The song i believe that best represents me and my music taste is Rita Ora's - Radioactive. Basically because 85%+ of my music is upbeat, party, having a good time type of music. Even though my music is very diverse, it ranges from rap, pop, R&B, country, dance, etc.
|
jomarr: A*Teens - Upside Down
Quote:
The song fits well with my musical taste because it's everywhere. I listen to almost anything and yes, even songs from other languages.
The song is probably describing me by the means of being a big ass mess in my life right now. I don't know my priorities and there is this girl that is distracting me from everything. Plus, I'm a happy go lucky person. Not really a "party-goer" but someone who loves thinking about his future and dreams with positivity.
|
Sebas: Lady GaGa - Dance In the Dark
Quote:
well... the phrase ''find your freedom in the music" says it all
Music is a very important thing in my life.
Lady Gaga is my fave and i love pop music

Chill Bill: Led Zeppelin - Dazed And Confused
Quote:
A song that represents both me and my music taste? Yeesh.
But overall, I think I'm going to have to go with Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin.
It embodies everything I love about music in general and rock in particular. For one thing, it's deeply rooted in blues (like most of Led's catalog). I have a strong affection for blues/ rock and roll, dating back to when I was a child and my parents would play old Eric Clapton and Buddy Holly cassettes for me. For some reason, the genre just speaks to me (possibly because I'm kind of a moody guy IRL).
And then there's the angst. Good GOD, the angst. Listen to Robert Plant sing and tell me you don't hear soul- searing pain pouring out of every note. This is mirrored by Page's guitar work. For the main hook, it has this slowly descending guitar riff that conveys this palpable feeling of... dread. And listen to the way Jimmy plays it; it sounds like he's trying to strangle the life out of each power chord.
Basically, the song exudes the two qualities of music that I (usually) value the most. First and foremost, it's not too ginger. I like songs that are willing to get a little rough, a little daring, a little violent... I like songs that have bite. That's generally the reason why, while I like pop as much as the next guy (I wouldn't be here if I wasn't), I tend to gravitate towards hard rock.
But what I really value in music is emotional potency. In my opinion, what you say isn't nearly as important as how you say it. Above all else, I admire artists who can pour themselves into their work, into every note they sing and every note they play. If you can make me feel what you're feeling, then you have my support.

Collin: Karmin - Crash Your Party
Quote:
Karmin:: Crash Your Party
"You think you're the star of the show; but I'm about to let you know - I'm here to crash your party!
As a fan of Ke$ha, one can only assume my immature pop ears () would like something like this; and y'all are absolutely correct. Karmin serves on this track. This song suits me for a few different reasons. I don't let people walk all over me. I hate it when people think they belong on top when they clearly just a load-o-garbage and like... try again, bxtch. I'm confident and can get a little blunt. Sometimes people don't like to hear the truth. But I like to be all up in my own byzznezz and embrace the things I enjoy, stand tall and proud. I'm not one of those people that are much different outside of ATRL. Finally, I'm all over the place. Much like this scene-twisting video, I am here and there, EVERYWHERE - both musically and as a person. Though downtime is a must, I'm always doing this and that, listening to this and that. I love to see new things, try out new things and just enjoy life. It's like I'm constantly crashing a party. Watch out befo' I crash up yours, tho

BobBertram1992: Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall Part 2
Quote:
Here's the song ( and the version I listen the most) that represents my taste and myself, my favourite kind of songs are the ones that are meaningful and have got admirable instrumentals, Pink Floyd are unrivaled on that!!
|
I'm JAVing Fun: U2 - Vertigo
Quote:
The song I chose for this round is U2 - "Vertigo"
I chose this song because of 2 reasons
1. Everyone in real life and Here on ATRL knows that I love Rock Music ,( although I'm only an irrelevant )so my Last FM is mainly composed of artists of different components of rock music(even though I still have some pop acts ).
2. This song just talks about my personality in general.I myself like going to parties and meeting other people(especially girls) and just "having" fun (hence my username).

Frozen99: Marina & The Diamonds - Lies
Quote:
So hi
I don't have very exquisite taste in music Mainly I listen to pop music and its different forms (electro-pop, dance-pop, alternative/indie pop, pop/rock...) but I also like R&B, electro or house music, soul/blues and a little bit hip-hop.
The song which could charachterise my taste the best is probably "Lies" by Marina & the Diamonds. She represents the indie influence I like but also kind of the mainstream I use "Lies" is a ballad aka my very favourite "genre" type (but that's mainly influenced by my mood ) with heavy electronic sounds mixed with Marina's impeccable vocals which's got beautiful indie vibe. It's a little bit of alternative and a little bit of mainstream, exactly how I like it (in music ).

TheResonantZune: Toni Braxton - You're Making Me High
Quote:
TheResonantZune and here is my last fm:
http://www.last.fm/user/TeamZuneDX
I'm using a song by Toni Braxton called "You're Making Me High" since this explains somewhat not only indeuces my love towards music, but it addresses my continuous desires and joy I receive out of music every single day and how I cannot go without a day without listening to music period.

fiercE: Drake Bell - I Found a Way
Adr: Sting - Englishman in New York
Quote:
Sting - Englishman in New York
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d27gTrPPAyk
This song is like a metaphor. Sting sang about a people with english culture and come to American culture that really different with his home country. It's kinda similar with me in atrl. I'm from Indonesia and i feel like i'm the only one from Indonesia in atrl when there are a lot of people from US, Phillipines, Brazil, etc. But i still being myself and not try to follow anyone since i'm proud with myself.
And also it's kinda like metaphor for my music taste in Atrl. This forum is truly a pop music and mainstream songs. I'm kind of rock and indie people. It's 2 different thing of course, but i still can have fun in this atrl forum. Also the music itself is kinda jazz, and it's a little be showing that i love jazz also not only rock or maybe some pop. And the main point of ths song is still be yourself and i guess that's me

staracademy1990: Jennifer Lopez f. Pitbull - On the Floor
Quote:
Jennifer Lopez - On the Floor (feat. Pitbull)
This song basically sums up my personality. I'm very fun, outgoing and lively person. I love to sing, dance and love. Believe me when I say, I had this song on repeat when it came out 24/7. I got all my friends addicted to the song because of how much I sang it or played it around. I even had the choreo for the song down, and was doing it whenever the song comes on. JLO is one of my faves, and this is song/video is one of my favs of all time. It also represents my generic TOP 40 taste

I'mRihannaFan: Little Mix - Wings
Quote:
Little Mix - Wings
I chose the song because it's phresh, it's energetic, young, just like me.
In my opinion it's one of the best debut singles of the last years, so which song to start better this game?
The song has R&B and old school influences, so very different just like my last.fm with urban, pop and country artists.
Here it ismy Last.fm

sumthintoxic82: Nicola Roberts - Beat Of My Drum
Quote:
I chose Beat of My Drum for a number of reasons. First, lyrically, the song is about getting people to accept your style, about once following other, but now you do things your way, and that fits with music. This is my style of music, follow it or leave it. It aslo has that pop sound that I LOVE, but its not completely "mainstream", its different enough to be unique. And the lyrics are important in the expression of the song, and thats something I really love in most of the songs I listen too..

This game is too easy for me. I was interested on seeing other people's last accounts and see more eclectic people around here.
I'm rooting for BobBertram1992 and ChillBill
