Heres another song that nobody will know about ^_^
7. "Clarity" - Zedd ft. Foxes
Clarity was a free single on iTunes a few months ago, and it was worth far more than free. This track, though by an EDM artist, has few EDM traits. I can't explain what the song feels like, but its absolutely amazing. From the chorus of "hey" sung by a male choir, to the infectious hook sung by Foxes, this song hits every high point possible. The verses are clear and raw, with few effects other than a reverb and possibly melodyne. Zedd's production is infectious, not muddy, and just pure amazing. What a shame that this didn't smash on radio.
This is a really weird song to put on here, as it came out in July of 2011, but it didn't really kick off until this year (similar to Somebody That I Used To Know outside of Australia and New Zealand.) Midnight City was rated the #1 song of 2011 by multiple magazines and websites, including hipster giant Pitchfork. The song's hook may seem instrumental at first, but it is in fact heavily modified vocals. The extremely ambient verses make your ears melt of pure awesome, and the minute-long saxophone solo at the end is the most cliché thing to ever come out absolutely terrific.
7. "Am I A Psycho?" - Tech N9ne ft. B.o.B & Hopsin
Am I a psycho for liking this song? Its beat - produced by B.o.B himself - is pretty psychotic, and the lyricism by Tech and Hopsin is quite disturbing. B.o.B's verse is a diss towards Odd Future's frontman Tyler, the Creator (whom I am a fan of) and does a pretty job with the metaphors. Tech's horrorcore, rapid-fire verse is filled with misogyny and insane fetishes such as hot scalding water on his balls. B.o.B's hook is a low point of the song, just repeating the song's title in an uncatchy melody. Hopsin's rapid-fire verse makes more references to his balls, and how they're getting to hairy to shave, before going on to talking about how he was dropped on his head as a child. The song is basically a huge anthem for insanity. Its insane, and amazing.
