I sort of agree and mostly disagree with her. Do you join/start a band with the sole intention of using them as a platform for going solo? No, of course not. That's very selfish and greedy. But much in the same way that some couples grow apart, so do band members. If that happens, then you can't force what is no longer there. So what is a successful solo artist suppose to do in that situation, stop making music so the public can no longer perceive them as being selfish and ungrateful? People are always gonna draw their own conclusions, so you do what's best for you.
And Beyoncé did return to DC after the massive success of DIL, not to mention they've always left room for the possibility of a reunion one day, so Stevie's point is moot in Beyoncé's case. I think she should just comment on things she actually knows about, since I doubt she was privy to whatever went down behind the scenes with DC.
