But Generic pop dance albums don't really sell well, either.
Sorry is rising on Urban though.

Anyway, if she gave the idea that she just wants to do what she wants to do, and doesn't care about charts, then no matter where on any chart she lands, I wouldn't consider it a flop. However all I've been hearing is how this is supposed to be huge, and then she released rather boring songs, and then they're not really taking off, so it feels like a flop.
Sometimes I wish that artists would just realize they've made their mark and perhaps are no longer where pop music is, and so should just focus on their artistry because that's all that's going to carry them through. Making ten albums that try to get hits vs. making 3 albums of high quality is much better for your legacy.

The same L.A Reid that dropped Gaga, one of the currently biggest pop star WW ?

I thought Living It Up would have been a perfect single for her. It's fresh without sounding "generic."

True, but he has said he regrets that now and it's not as if his resume is bad (Avril Lavigne, Mariah Carey, Pink, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kanye West, Toni Braxton, Kerli, TLC, Usher, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Ciara, OutKast, Dido...) [Just taken from his Wikipedia page]

I'm just saying that you shouldn't get your hopes up based on his words.

This.
i think you put too much trust in what he said. I don't trust him AT ALL or believe in his abilities.
Of course she's flopping. GP is not here for R&B anymore she should do something risky... But Do I see Cici focusing on sth that really stands out? NO. ![rolleyes](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

I don't think it's a matter of trusting someone based on their past hits or misses, but if someone says THIS IS GOING TO BE AMAZING and then it's not, then aren't you underwhelmed? And isn't it a bit of a failure if the goal was to be amazing and it isn't.

Ciara was one of my favorite artists last decade, and I'll always be here for her earlier music, but her music career is so nonexistent. What will save it? That's right, nothing.
|
Oh, really? She's already gotten more promo this era than she had for her last two, combined.
TONS [at LEAST 20] of interviews.
Jimmy Kimmel performance.
Black Girls Rock performance.
TIMES SQUARE video debut.
VH1 Divas.
This may not seem like a lot, but this is just for the singles, not the albums. That's great so far.

She has them (Livin It Up, Overdose, One Woman Army). She just doesn't want them to be released at this time. They know what they're doing.

I seriously feel LA Reid doesn't care for her. His lazy ass needs to get her a performance on X Factor!!
Plus I still feel Sweat could have been an urban hit for her because the song *****!!
|
No shade but you need to be worried about Christina's album and promo run, not Ciara's.

Sorry is currently 24 on urban radio. It's been increasing everyday. Got Me Good got 20 spins for winning a contest this weekend and it's getting sent to radio tomorrow and on the 20th. It's gonna take time for her to reach the top again.

Got Me Good won a contest and the prize was 20 spins? Or it won a contest and the rest was 20 spins? What contest was this?
