When a celebrity shows up for a campaign stop, although they might share values with the candidate, they're still paid to show up. Her appearance then helps raise money, which is spent to hold other events like this one.

Calling her a "humanitarian" is a massive exaggeration, though. She was paid to involve herself in a political war and wrote "Equal Rights" on her hand. The most I'll give her is a "kudos" for the performance, but she doesn't deserve a Nobel Peace Prize. Feigning innocence on your part isn't, therefore, very "fair" either.

How many times do I have to say all the artist involved were NOT paid to be there. They all did it for free out of their support for Obama. George Clooney, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, and Jennifer Hudson were all not paid. They gave their services in support of Obama.

They're not being serious when they call her a humanitarian or "Mother Teresa" or "the female Michael Jackson." They're just exaggerating/trolling to incite a reaction.
