Celeb News: MTV: Gaga's Weight -- "Just Stop. Seriously."

I just find it weird that MTV are latching on to this when the fact that Gaga gained some weight is virtually unnoticed. They're just bringing more attention to it, it's really not helping.
|
Yeah, I could understand the rant if it had been a week and some famous people commented on it in a negative way. But it's literally been less than half a day and it really wasn't getting much mainstream attention. This was like some obsessed fan who felt their soul burning to pieces by any criticism of their master. Was this actually a "journalist" at MTV? not a blogger? Maybe they're hiring their journalists with recommendations from Snooki.

Why should Lady Gaga, the popstar who makes it a statement to be "model thin," even promoting the hashtag "#PopSingersDontEat" on Twitter, be treated any differently in the media when it comes to weight? She will
be scrutinized for her weight gain just like Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears. The
only difference is that, with the latter artists, they always enforced a positive healthy image as
opposed to Gaga, so Gaga will possibly be even more scrutinized by media outlets.

I don' think she looks fat.

She's not fat. She seems to be somewhere around Xtina and Britney's weight, maybe a bit bigger. That's not fat (it's normal for most of us) but it's definitely a different look for Ms. #PopSingersDontEat.

I can't help but agree with you. You make a very valid statement and I agree. If Gaga gains weight, she will suffer the same way all her contemporaries have.

Except Adele was fat. Objectively, she was. Not good for her health.
Gaga is a little chubby, and isn't endangering her health

With pop stars there are double standards with weight.

Some people in this thread defending GaGa are the some of the people who use to insult Kelly/Xtina etc for their weight and are now saying "stop it"

so what you're saying is that the monster's were only making fun of Adele's weight because of their deep concern for her endangered health? I guess it all makes sense now!

Yet they've made fun of others for their weight gain before. I see.

Exactly. It's ALL a double standard.
Lady GaGa is expected to appear like a popstar - just as I'm allowed to not care about my appearance as a commoner. Just how I, as a commoner, would get arrested for indecent exposure if I wore the things that GaGa does around various cities.

She doesn't deserve any less criticism than what Britney, Xtina and Kelly got.

Actually, it's true. Some of y'all went IN when it was Christina, Kelly, Britney, Adele, and sometimes even Beyonce. How the tables have turned.

I see you can't handle a joke hashtag from a tweet and need to reference lyrics from a song released exclusively on a soundtrack and only written for the specific point of glorifying the fashion industry in order to attempt to make a point on Gaga's own attitude.
