I never heard Toxic in a club or a party, ever.
Only her classic songs from her first two albums, and songs from Blackout era and up.

Holiday peaked at #20 and was easily overshadowed by Borderline and Lucky Star in terms of hit songs.

If I asked some random what of the three hits from her debut album was the highest peaking, most people would guess Holiday, not Lucky STar.

No one would remember any songs from Madonna's first album because the first album in general is largely forgettable in favor of the singles from Like A Virgin and True Blue. As it's been said threw out this entire thread no one knew that Madonna sang Holiday, that says volumes doesn't it?

Both Lucky Star AND Holiday are the memorable hits from her first album. Come on Monroe, even you don't believe what you're saying right now

Holiday peaked at #16, and while the other two were bigger hits at the time, Holiday has obviously stood the test of time better and is more of a conventionally known song in pop culture.

Holiday, Borderline, and Lucky Star are still played on the radio constantly. They're some of her biggest recurrent airplay hits. You're really... way off base with this one.

That people don't know about Holiday or that Madonna sang the song? No. That's very much a true statement. People do not remember Holiday and if they do, they do not associate that song with Madonna. People don't even remember she sang it most of the time when they do remember that song as you can see by the posts in this thread. Most people don't remember any songs from Madonna's debut album, they are much more prone to remember Like A Virgin, Papa Don't Preach, Material Girl or Into The Groove. They are not thinking a damn bit about Holiday or Lucky Star.

THE LIES
First. Never EVER base things like that on ATRL, you know how deluded this site can be. People DO remember Holiday and it is a signature song for her, point blank. Second, it's true people don't really remember much from Madge's debut album but they DO remember Lucky Star as well. For heaven's sake that's the video people refer too when they call Madonna iconic with her dress style. Since that video came out every little 80s girl wanted to dress like her and be her. She created a movement. That earring in one ear became iconic.
Nobody remembers Into the Groove . It was just a big hit, that's it

Dancing Queen is still searched because Mamma Mia is still on Broadway, not only that but the play was made into a movie just a few years ago.
You tried, you really did.

Obviously not if people can't even remember who sings the damn song.

Just because radio plays them doesn't mean that the average person would recognize the song. As it's been said when people bring up Madonna the song most people think about it not Holiday. People think of tons of other songs before they think of Holiday. Most people again saying this for the fourth time don't even remember Madonna sang the song, even when it was first released most people thought that a black person sang the song. Not the white girl on tv who was revealing her belly button Madonna.

People know it's Madonna. A few people on ATRL don't mean much.
