She's more basic than them. Ke$ha writes so her music has its own twist. And Katy just knows how to own a song. Rita is all over the place.

You really believe that? Good spots on charts is the main thing that gives the greatest amount of promotion to the new artist imo, which later has its reflection in album sales, tour gross, etc

And please, don't act like Club/Dance Chart was as important as Hot 100.

Rita fans like to say how Ora's voice style is better than Rihanna's, but no one is really here point out that Rihanna's debut single went to 2nd place on Billboard Hot 100 when her situation was way worse than Rita's, imo.

Rita needs to get her as to work 4 real.Success ain't that easy to achieve.+ i find it ebarrassing when she says she worked a couple of years on this album. All song she put out proves it wrong. Such a weak material could be put together in 6 month.

I'm getting bored with her already.

It doesn't mean anything when it comes to quality etc. You have the shittiest of rap songs and all (Flo-Rida etc.) making it to the top of the charts while actual quality singles aren't peaking high. Charts just means who bought something the most or what label put the most money out to promote some microwaved bs.

Once again no one was acting as if anything was "as important".

Rihanna had great promo for "Pon De Replay" and to be honest it was more radio friendly. Not only could it be played on Pop radio it was also urban enough to be played on Urban radio which it was.

I do think that's why "How We Do" didn't work. The song was typical and it was really only pop. It was not about to get spins on Urban to bring the total spins and audience up. You can't even deny that. "Pon De Replay" was a much better first single to get played across all formats.

How We Do should have smashed! it was like the perfect summer song and there was no other "feel good" songs to compete with. I hope she does well with her next single...although every other track i heard sounds just alright.

Flo Rida is a single artist for many years, so he kinda has his own brand it’s difficult to compare him to Rita. Let’s take someone who had similar position to Rita, but with little promotion. Bruno Mars… He wouldn’t be the best selling male act of 2011, if his debut singles didn’t smashed the way they did. And his material isn't that mainstream at all.

The promotion Pon De Replay got is nothing compared to the exposure Rita gets in general.

Of course "Pon De Replay" was a much better first single to get played across all formats BACK THEN. But How We Do WAS that radio friendly song to fit the current trends and smash in summer… It obviously didn’t do the trick.

I really like Rita, looove her goofy personality and energy on stage, but her singles are just weak and it’s just bad since it supposed to be her attention-grabber. I hope she delivers someday I don’t even expect she does it with her debut. I hope she would take the music seriously next time...
