Mariah Carey is much more critically acclaimed than Britney Spears.

Daydream & Butterfly AS A WHOLE were critically acclaimed, rather than a select few Britney Spears songs.

BOMT would have been in the 50's had metacritic included it.

MC woulda been in the early 70's/Mid 60's
Emotions woulda been in the late 50's/early 60's.
MB woulda been in the mid 50's/early 60's
DD woulda been early 70's/mid 70's
BF woulda been early 70's/mid 70's
RB woulda been mid 50's/late 50's

Just to set the record straight, Hero wasn't critically acclaimed. Critics actually didn't like it very much due to the heavy comparisons to Whitney's "Greatest Love of All."

Mariah is second most nominated female artist ever behind only Aretha at the Grammys that should tell you something.

The reason she always loses is down to Grammys politics. They hate her because she was married to the biggest music mogul in the world at the time. And later on, she changed her music.
