Is that really the only one that bothers you? Mess. I know someone that does not hesitate to call someone out when they use pejoratives to suggest that something can only be related to someone being black and then turns around and does the same damn thing to every other race. And no one calls her out on it but me because "it's fine" if you say something like that about whites or hispanics or what have you.
Yes and no.
I think it's better not to say it, but I don't exactly take huge offense to it, and have a lot of friends that aren't homophobic and use it.
yes it annoys me and i'm not even gay. Gay does not mean stupid so people should stop misusing the word. Essentially when you use the word you mean something is happy or someone is homosexual.
It doesn't offend me at all, a lot of my straight friends use it all the time, or label someone 'gay' in a judgemental way but I'd expect no less of them because of the environment they were raised in.
only when is said about stupid stuff like when kids in my school would be like ''man we got homework thats so gay" i mean didnt know homework was homosexual
It's offensive because essentially what you're doing is equating anything negative with homosexuality. So while what you're saying may not bother you, you really shouldn't say it because--whether you mean to or not--you're encouraging homophobia and the continued designation of LGBT individuals as second-class citizens.
