1. No longer airing music centric shows (MTV Diary, Making of the Video, etc)
2. Playing music videos early in the morning instead of the afternoon
3. Reality shows (Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, Sweet 16)
4. Cancelling TRL / not creating a music video countdown replacement
YouTube has actually not much to do with it IMO. I would put that last on the list.

Why? Because the station is called Music Television? Because they have an entire award show that's dedicated to music videos? And some people like to watch music videos on TV and not on a square sized box on their computer screens

MTV has been airing reality shows since the 90s. It's got nothing to do that. However, in recent years there has been an overpopulation of them.
