well, sure, if one is willing to be paid a lot every month for something they're not going to use a whole lot. Spotify is for hipsters and people who like LOVE music. most people in general aren't like that, tho. so it might take years, maybe decades, until that happens.
But people buy albums on iTunes for 9.99 all the time. How is paying the same price for EVERY ALBUM IN SPOTIFY'S LIBRARY illogical/for hipsters?
Please no what you're talking about before entering a discussion.

You do know that in a few countries, Spotify has already overtook Itunes right?
Not really though, itunes is coming with its own version of spotify.
I hope so. That can only be good for subscription music.
Competition will drive its adoption rate much faster. If Itunes debut its version of Spotify, it will have 1 million paid subscribers within a VERY SHORT TIME.
I don't see it happening for every country. Not everyone has a iPod Touch/iPad, and Spotify doesn't work with regular iPods, right? I used to use Spotify, but I hated the design.
Plus, I don't like the feeling of not "having" an album. Sure, it's cheaper, but eh.
$0.00450 per stream ($3,376 for 750,000 total streams)
$0.00579 per stream ($0.65412 for 113 total streams - August/Sept 2011)
$0.00870 per stream ($0.3219 for 37 total streams - Sept 2011)
$0.00726 per stream ($2.5549 for 352 total streams - July 2011)
Assume $0.0055 payment per stream.
$1.29 Itunes download x 70% = 164 Spotify streams x $0.0055
$0.99 Itunes download x 70% = 126 Spotify streams x $0.0055
i hate spotify but that just stems from personal preference of having the songs in my possession rather than just streaming them. ive tried to get into spotify but it just doesn't appeal to me.
I don't know why so many people like Spotify, I mean don't you prefer having the music on YOUR iTunes, on YOUR computer? I will never use it for that reason.
