These sorts of viral campaigns fizzle out very quickly, so let's just hope enough of the people who watch it in the next 3-5 days stick by the campaign.

Exactly what i am thinking. But i hope that it doesn't fizzle. Definitely going give my best to make it to the Toronto Cover the Night!!!

It always has amazed me how easily fooled people are based on a video. Any fool who thinks kony is the first or only bad man to step foot on an African country clearly knows nothing about those countries, they are no different from American "bad men" who do their dirt secretly. This kit is made to snatch your money, end of discussion really.

I agree he isn't the first or the only one over there. But Osama wasn't the only terrorist, nor Sadam the only dictator. And I won't jump to say he just wants people money, considering he's been working in Africa for nearly a decade now and probably uses some funds to make all the materials to expand the campaign. People use money for materialistic things so I don't see reason to scoff at someone trying to make a difference, even if it's just one person.
Nice video.

- No one says he is the first or only bad man
and
- the kit is so people can continue to spread the word about this vile man
Also thank you to whoever put #stopkony on the top of the site

So because Kony isn't the first atrocious man in Africa this whole campaign is a fraud? The 2010 earthquake in Haiti wasn't the first, so I guess every charity dedicated to helping victims of that was trying to snatch my money? There are multiple, legitimate ways to criticize the campaign and the Invisible Children, that isn't one of them.
And I'd say Kony is substantially different from the American bad men, what with the sex slaves and dead children, but that's an argument for another day.

Where in the video does it claim that Kony is the first/only bad man in an African country?
And because there's more than one, working to spread awareness and help end the regime of one is bad? Just...
As Woozy said, there's other legitimate problems/reasons to be skeptical of Invisible Children, that is not one of them.

That's one of the 1000 problems that our generation had. This young generation people are so hot-headed & self-centered. Sure, now people are going crazy over this matter. But let's see how much who will care about it next week.
If you read newspaper every once in a while, I think many will realize that this is really nothing new. Many are still suffering in Africa, but is it really bad like how IC tried to tell us in this video? No, not really. But yes, in circa 2003. We never know the precise time, but UN quietly has stepped in for these matters and succeeded in making one or two steps forward. I'll say Kony right now is like Saddam Hussein was in 2006. Hiding in a rat hole, starving, waiting for the 'time'. And if he's well known now, what's the point? Remember when Saddam finally caught and shot to dead? What happened then to Iraq? They've been practically nowhere. Saddam's dead, but the conflict is still going on (if people realize this). It's just, man, you guys are too late. Uganda has already been at the rebuilding phase right now, no longer in conflict-peak. And there are UNDF & AFRICOM helping them since people found out about Kony first. And personally, I'd like Ugandian to put Kony on the 'Guillotine' by themselves instead of UN or US soldiers.
I cannot give a solution to be honest. Things are just too complex in Africa. But I can give an idea, how about letting them to finish it by themselves? Like the old Chinese saying, "Give a man a fish, it will feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish, it will feed him for live" And if many are wondering where are the money that people sent to those developing countries, well the money went to the corrupt government pocket. And things like clothes, soaps, etc? Well, flash news, they re-sell it, right after they received it. They became lazy. To actually help them imo, is building schools. Give them proper education. Don't send too much aid. Help the basic things only (like providing water access for example).
I'm glad that IC has opened the eyes of the youngins. My wish is, it's not gonna be the only movement that will stop once they got Kony. Remember the domino effect. The 'after' phase is the most important right now. Also, there are many other Kony-s too. But I REALLY hope that the youngins joined this 'movement' because they really want to do something, from their heart, not for "Yo. I joined A/B/C movement, like many others. Now I'm cool right?". Do some researches, try to help more and more people as they grow older. Be engaged in economy/social/environmental/politics issues.
Speaking of IC again, have you read the financial report of this organization? You can 'pledge now' with IC, but I suggest you to give your money to UN.
EDIT:
Woah. IC people. I cannot believe that they went to Uganda with so little information. They took pics with soldiers from the other rebel group? Wow. Man. Uganda was a conflict area, not a 'have-to-visit' by tourists. Visiting a conflict area with little information even tho you have a good intention, was truly disturbing. They stupidly put their life in danger, and thank God they got out from those conflict areas alive. If they didn't, it would be just another problem to add at a very long list. Not helping at all in 'making peace' there.
And the KONY campaign has been going on for years I see. - http://chrisblattman.com/2009/03/04/visible-children/

Great video. I almost didn't watch this but it's definitely worthy. Kony is not the first bad man in Africa nor the world but that doesn't mean his victims don't deserve justice. He has to pay for everything he did regardless of where his victims lived.

We learned about this in Global Studies. I don't know how much of impact this can make, but the situation is really terrible

No one in the video ever said he was the first bad guy in Africa. He said he was first on the list and he clearly had a list of all the horrible leaders in Africa.
