I'm not surprised about this poll, 'cause there are many people hate J-Lo (Well! For stupid reasons), but Jen is better, she has more talents.
BTW, Jen has sold 60 million copies and has had 2 US #1 albums, one of them was/is still the 3rd biggest selling remix album after Madonna and Micheal Jackson's.

Shakira would have attempted a crossover regardless of Jennifer's existence. She had already recorded and released music in Portuguese (which proved highly successful in Brazil and Portugal) to expand her reach and she was under the guidance of Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan who were molding her career after Gloria Estefan's.
Shakira is the superior force in the music market as a Latina woman. You Jennifer Lopez fans can keep on reveling in the misguided belief that JLo somehow paved the way for Shakira. If it makes you all feel better...

Shakira dances like a cow in labor - JLo doesn't.
Shakira's album sales are exaggerated - JLo's arent.

Yes, Shakira's been such a failure as a musician and artist compared to JLo. That's why Shakira has has been able to put together several worldwide tours and JLo.... when has JLo even toured?

Shakira sold 10 million albums before JLo's professional music career even existed. She had already secured a Grammy nomination. She was already a spokesperson for Pepsi, Nokia, and Calvin Klein. Shakira paved her own way as singer and songwriter. Her success is a result of her own work ethic. You delusional JLo fans are not going to strip away her achievements as if they are product of JLo's simple existence.

Your ability to reason is extremely poor. Why should I care for the words of an MTV editorialist who was paid to write a complimentary bio about Jennifer Lopez when I have statistics that show that Shakira paved her own way through the success of her Spanish-language music?
Shakira had a gleaming record prior to her crossover. She was on a roll with her singles and her albums. From 1996 to 2000 Shakira's star was growing brighter and brighter and it was her own passion which led to a successful crossover, not JLo releasing her first album.

let me correct you. She was slowly gettin' bigger and bigger. from mid 90s to 2000. then when Jlo released her album, Shakira blew up in 2001. thats what we call "Pave"
