How am I trying it? Lady GaGa is coined as the biggest pop star since Britney, so I don't understand how 3 million by year's end is an unreasonable expectation. And really, who was the last female country artist to sell 1 million first week before Taylor? I don't think bases matter that much when all three artists sold 1 million first week out. Lil Wayne and Taylor just had more longevity.
Regardless, this is one of the best selling albums of the year, and that should be noted.
It's astonishing enough that she managed to debut with such numbers in today's climate. Even if her longevity with this album was a tad more consistent, she still wouldn't match the sales of albums from the early days.
