This song was my jam back at the beginning of the year! Everything about this song just goes hard. The beat is amazing, thanks to The Cataracs, and Dev's verses and the chorus are perfection. This is definitely not the last of Dev on the list.
When Friday first hit the scene, I thought it was so stupid, and Rebecca Black was just looking for attention and to be famous. But when I found out how it went viral and all the **** she went through, and that she was actually cool, I liked it. I listened to it non-stop on my iPod for about a week. Now that the hype has died down, I realize: Yeah, it's not exactly a masterpiece, but it will always be buried in the back of my mind and I will never forget.
P.S. Those ad-libs at the end get me every damn time.
One of the only songs by Selena & "The Scene" where it actually sounds like the band is playing in the background. The guitar makes the song what it is and the lyrics are what you would consider "unlifting". I would put it higher on the list but the "be yourself" has already been placed further up. Also, she needs to drop "& the Scene", it sounds stupid.
This is one song that, again, makes me ask the question: Why does Britney put all the best songs as bonus tracks?!?!?!?! Whoever was in control of the tracklisting of Femme Fatale should have been fired and this song along with all the other bonus tracks should have been put on the standard edition. But that has nothing to do with how good this song is! The song becomes catchy and infectious within the first 5 seconds and stays that way until the end. Also, the performance of Up 'N' Down on the tour is fantastic and sexy.
Cheers (Drink To That) is a good song, but it's not one of the most "stand out-ing" tracks of Loud. It is arranged nicely but I feel like its all been done before, but unlike most people, I kinda dig the Avril banshee screams.
