Gaga has been raising the bar for quite some time now. It's not so much about the performance, which I found to be enjoyable minus the fall but her commitment to Jo throughout the entire show. I may not 100% love Jo but its admirable that she didn't shrink back and be Gaga.

well gaga's commitment to her character was admirable but her performance in terms of the actual song was nothing exciting. The only thing is she dressed as a guy. cool... People just want to make it more than what it was because it fell flat from being "historic"...

I don't think the actual performance of Y&I was the best part of the night...it was just the commitment to the existence of Jo and his personality that made it work for me.

But singers arent actors so I'm not understanding why the need for them to act in character since most people are themselves? Gaga does performance art that's her thing, I would be annoyed if everyone did that..

No thanks, I love Beyonce's style of performing as I do gaga's (sometimes) and Adele's and so on. For me Beyonce is top notch, seems like what people want these days are more gimmicks. Of course awards shows love that.

Although Gaga can just sit at the piano and kill it vocally, I was glad that she took it to another level with the monologue, choreography and character.

The performance itself wasn't exactly groundbreaking, same old Gaga shtick running around dancing, then sitting and playing the piano, then doing some other antics like drinking onstage. The only difference was that she was in drag the whole time, even outside the performance. She used the men's bathroom for crying out loud I just can't. Only Gaga would and she did make headlines again but without the multiple outfit changes. Bad bitch, seriously And my fave Britney agrees too so

Katy tried to raise the bar by copying Gaga, but Gaga outshined her as usual.
Britney raised the bar five years ago, but that bar was exceeded and yet again raised by the one and only Gaga.

Gaga showed everyone how to REALLY do an alter ego and it'll be remembered simply because she was so relentless with her character. You will have to deal.
