No.
The OT is very, very much apart of the Xian Bible, you don't get to pick and choose what part of the OT is for the Xians, it's the same God, God in the beggining of the Bible, is the God at the end.
Now do I need to remind you of the God in the beggining of the Bible?
Umm.... no it's not. It may be the same god but it is widely known that the OT is not what Christians believe in. It is god but in a different sense before the most important moment in history happened. The PURPOSE of the Old Testament is to lead to the new life in the New Testament. It is to show what Jesus did and how he changed the world from the old to the new. Christians do not believe in the Old Testament except for the Ten Commandments.

Are you not reading ANYTHING Geo and I are writing?! YES, the OT is a part of the Bible! That is UNDENIABLE since it comes with the Bible when you purchase it! But it's not regarded as highly as the NT and not considered what Christians believe BECAUSE the ideas in the OT were elaborated upon and changed in the NT. Does that not make sense?
No, religion does not attack them. People attack them and try to use the Bible as their support.
Why would people do that though if they weren't influenced by their religion? I have seen in this thread that you are highly religious, KoreanDream, and this is in no way having a go at you or anyone else religious who aren't homophobic. But I can't help but wonder why homophobic religious people would believe so strongly in heterosexuals if religion doesn't influence that.
The Bible is like (in my opinion) the key to religion, and the fact that someone would use something like the Bible as their "false evidence" is beyond me. I don't know if I am making any sense, I am kinda just "thinking out loud" and getting my head around it, haha.

It's kinda sad that that's how we're treated sometimes.

Ok, so you're trying to tell me that all the laws and what not in the OT, were all made up and put into your holy book (with the exception of the 10 C's) How is this book holy if half of it is wrong?
Seems like you're following a book full of inaccuracys and therefore cannot be trusted, I disprove your religon.

I'm as stumped as you, frankly. I don't know why someone would try to use religion to justify something as disgusting as homophobia. I take it you aren't religious, so I have to say that, from a religious standpoint, religion doesn't affect all parts of your life. Yes, you live by it, but there are all sorts of things you do and believe in that don't pertain to religion. My best guess is that some homophobic people exist that use religion to justify their homophobia, but that they didn't get their homophobia from the Bible. I don't think anyone could or would be homophobic because of something the Bible said. It's their own issue with homosexuality that causes them to seek support from something as strong as the Bible.
Stop. Just because one religious person said something like this does not mean all religious people are like this. I myself am incredibly religious and I am the least homophobic person possible. Just don't say things like this.
Thank you.
And Michelle needs to eithe retract her statements or kiss the presidency goodbye, lol.

Random question, do you really think all the things in the Bible happened, or do you think someone came up with them to create some sort of a moral conduct?

It's not wrong. The information is accurate (I believe) and It really happened in history but it's not to be followed anymore, at least by the Christian faith it's not. It's in the bible for reference to show what the early world before Jesus Christ came down was like and how it was tarnished with issues because there was no messiah who came down to forgive them over their sins. The New Testament is what matters and is what is important to Christians.
That's fine if you disapprove. It's not for me to judge what your opinion of Christianity is.

Anyway, my conclusion on the matter of this thread is that this woman obviously has some issues and needs to pull out of the campaign immediately. She has no reason saying what she has said over the past few weeks other then to desperately try to gain some publicity. These are the type of people I worry about in government

I suggest you read Matthew, God makes it clear that the OT is not to be pushed under the rug because you don't follow it anymore, and to my main point, you worship a God who thought it was ok to kill gays because they made love, there is no way around this, I don't care if he decided to make a son then kill him and say you're all saved, YOUR GOD thought it was ok to kill homosexuals because thw world was already tarnished and full of sin...
I am a religious Muslim. I pray, fast in Ramadan, I read our holy book, and I go the mosque. But I am not going to go around and tell Christians they are wrong, or tell gay people they are going to hell. I have my religion because it's MINE, mine only I am not going to go around hoarding people with it. So I think the people who are saying "gay is a sin, 'yall be going to hell" are just stupid, keep your religion to yourself.
If only everyone has this mentality the world would be a better place

Well, I'm technically a Jehovah's Witness (hopefully you have heard of that religion) because my whole family is. But I'm bi, and because of what Jehovah's Witnesses think, and also other religions I have encountered at school etc, I have lost my belief in the religion. I have learned to accept that this is who I am. I'm not 18 yet, so technically I am still religious, but as soon as I am turning 18 I am "officially" becoming Atheist.
But yeah, religion does impact my life. And its like being in a group of people where I'm not accepted. I hate that, I really do. Not that I have come out, but I know that the real me doesn't belong, you know?
Bahaha sorry, I have just like vented my story into this post. In keeping with what you said, I guess it might be people with those beliefs that are stubborn and have to use something like the Bible to prove their point.
No, god himself did not write the Old Testament. Christianity did not even exist when the Old Testament was written.
God himself did not write the NT either...I'll rephrase, did God inspire the OT?
Ugh - I can't even right now, nevermind, I have to go, I just can't with how bipolar this God guy seems to get.
One line it's kill the gays, next line it's love everyone...
