It probably would have still broken 200M. It was #1 on Pop, Rhythmic, Urban, and Urban AC, and was in the Top 5 on HAC and AC... all at the same time. It was just an outstanding airplay phenomenon.

If the radio format is not changed, then i can't imagine anyone beating that record.
At that time Rhythmic was really huge, a song can get about 80m AI. But now 40m is max.

Are there many Rhythmic stations in the U.S. compared to Pop and Urban? I swear, I can't think of a Rhythmic station where I live, though this one Pop station was Rhythmic-leaning from 2000-2005.

I mean, I know in my local area what the local Urban, Urban Contemporary, Pop, AC, HAC, and AAA stations are...and I don't even live in an area that's that big (only one station goes for mediabase data).

Like...what kinda music does Rhythmic play?

This is the biggest confusion I have. Just looking at the Rhythmic chart, I assume mainly commercial urban music with a bit of someone like Pitbull or Tinie Tempah, who do not usually get urban airplay, with some dance-pop songs here and there. But if you look at the charts from 2000-2005, pop and rhythmic were nearly identical. **shrugs**

Maybe that's why the Rhythmic channels switched to pop/shut down.

I just can't think of any stations in my area that are like that. One of them used to be, but then they went broke and changed to a folk spanish music channel. Not even Latin.

Now that is the type of Urban music I could 100 percent associate with the Urban station in my area.

there was one rhythmic station near my university but it was always full of static...last time I listened to it was in december or so but I remember they were on PGR before it even impacted mainstream...but anyway yeah it was like a urban/pop crossover station

Yeah, I attribute E.T.'s #1 to Kanye, although it actually didn't hit #1 on Mediabase, only on Nielsen/BDS and Billboard.
