Like others said, it's a marketing choice. All songs are collaborative efforts, but if the label and artists decided to release it as a collaboration, then that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Agreed. It's like how Queen has Adam Lambert perform with them on tour. Nobody would say it's simply an "Adam Lambert Tour" just because he's the only one singing at times
Now granted, Zedd is IN NO WAY as big as Queen is, but at the time BF came out, he was kind of established ("Gravity" had already won a
Grammy by then). So if the powers that be decided his name needed to be on the song as a featured artist, then it's officially a collabo.
