Masculine gays have always had this issue... One positive i notice is that when you force the public to accept the most extreme caricature of any stigmatized minority group, it makes it easier for the majority (who are non-stereotypes)to blend into society, while also conditioning the public to be accepting of the extremely unfamiliar, only for them to eventually see that gays aren't as "unfamiliar" as they might have thought.
It's late and i know i didn't explain that well, but i'm trying to say QUEENS are sort of the pioneers of gay rights because they CAN't hide or blend in, and they're eventual acceptance has made it easier for run of the mill masculine gays to be "out" in the open
