I think Bey's vocals are a great embellishment to this song. Her voice blends well with Chris's, and the harmonies are beautiful. I'm happy that this became a moderate hit for them, and also the SeeB remix is really nice as well.
29. SELENA GOMEZ - "KILL EM WITH KINDNESS"
I'm still unsure as to why this was chosen as the final single from Revival, but it's still a great song, just not a hit. The whistle part is definitely my favorite part and also very ear catching. The vocal editing is also a bit messy, but it doesn't detract much from the song.
28. FRENSHIP F/ EMILY WARREN - "CAPSIZE"
I discovered this song because I saw it in the top 30 on pop radio, and I had never heard it. I wish it could have become more of a sleeper hit. I love the direction this song takes EDM, and the chorus is just to die for, it gives me chills sometimes.
27. GTA F/ TINASHE - "ALL CAUGHT UP"
Tinashe put out a lot of quality tracks this year in my opinion, and this is no exception. I don't usually like her features as much, but I love this. Every time I listen to "All Caught Up" the chorus gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
26. DAWN RICHARD - "NOT ABOVE THAT"
Dawn has really found a special niche market for herself, and "Not Above That" continues the innovation she started with Goldenheart and advanced with Blackheart. The glitchiness and schizophrenic nature of this song is what makes it most endearing, and her voices sounds ethereal.
25. ARIANA GRANDE - "INTO YOU"
The way this song was overrated to the high heavens by ATRL made me not want to include it, but I can't deny talent. This is what pop perfection should sound like in 2016, even if Ariana's not the person I would want to hear it from (I think R&B suits her much better). She did a great job of capturing the euphoric sound of pure-pop in the chorus.
24. VICTORIA MONÉT F/ ARIANA GRANDE - "BETTER DAYS"
The message of this song is so beautiful as it was based on the tragedies we had seen earlier this year, but also their voices are so similar that they blend really well together. I also love the production influences from "Touch My Body" by Mariah.
23. RIHANNA F/ DRAKE - "WORK"
I can't believe I disliked this song at first! Thankfully, it grew on me a lot. Rihanna has a knack for creating catchy pop songs from relatively obscure genres, and I thank her for bringing diversity to the music scene. Drake's rap is also a great addition to the song as well.
22. SINEAD HARNETT F/ GRADES - "IF YOU LET ME"
I discovered Sinead's music by accident on Spotify, but I am hooked! I highly suggest everyone check out her EP because it's amazing! Her voice is seductive and endearing, and the production on this is minimalism at its best.
21. FLUME F/ KAI - "NEVER BE LIKE YOU"
I'm so happy this turned out to be a smash! Flume adds very creative touch to his productions that I think is lacking from the landscape lately. Kai's vocals are also absolutely gorgeous on this track, I hope to hear more from her in the future.
Cool God making the list My favorite song of the year
**** Apologies deserved to smash Side To Side and This Girl
Into God should have been higher, it's not overrated
Kill Em With Kindness is a mess but I love it Hymn
