Gwen Stefani, This Is What The Truth Feels Like
The way this came and went is ridiculous.
M.I.A., AIM
Either this is actually the most uninspired she's been or I'm just not interested. When have you ever heard of MIA making bad music? This is actually the biggest dissapointment of the year actually.
I agree.

AlunaGeorge, I Remember
A sophomore slump.
Not Above Love is the only good song

Lady Gaga, Joanne
I hate the bandwagon hate and I do feel bad, but this album just wasn't what I wanted. I appreciate the approach, the risk, the new image though.

Foxes, All I Need
I swear I was the first one to discover her but I don't stan so I just let the vultures get to her. I'm glad I waited because I don't really use her anymore. "Youth" is still legendary.
The second half of Wildflower dragged the album down a bit. I need to give this BADBADNOTGOOD album a listen, I'm curious about that Sam Herring collab. Oh, and Freetown Sound
I'm surprised you liked Wet's album I didn't really at all. Your picks for The Avalanches's album are so good and I agree with what you said about the album overall. Preeeeetty much same with Blood Orange's.
As for the disappointing albums, I actually really love some of the ones you posted, but I truly agree with Junk & AIM. Though the difference to me is I think the former is just soooo bad, while the latter is soooo disappointing... if that makes sense.
I've never heard a single Thao album until this one but it's an elaborate showcase of musical talent and diversity. The closest thing to tUnE-yArDs.
39. Kero Kero Bonito, Bonito Generation
Quote:
The closest thing to K-pop I would ever like - even though she sings in English - but we will see, maybe I'll hop on the BLACKPINK train? I don't normally go for music this sugary but this is some cute and fun ass stuff.
38. Sunflower Bean, Human Ceremony
Quote:
After listening to their lead single, "Easier Said," I was surprised by how much diversity this band hand has. You get a blend of '80s alt-pop, psychedelic rock and dream pop.
37. Animal Collective, Painting With
Quote:
I feel like this is the best Animal Collective album since 2009. They really stripped back this time and made a good pop record.
36. YG, Still Brazy
Quote:
Anything 90's I love.
35. Drake, Views
Quote:
This grew on me a ton, but still not deserving of all the praise and people acting like this is the only album of 2016 that should be selling. I hated this when it first came out but overtime song by song I learned to appreciate Views. Drake is overrated and washed up now though. He hops on trend to trend, stealing flows and sounds every era and I'm over that.
34. Tove Lo, Lady Wood
Quote:
The music is not as strong as QOTC imo but nothing is bad. Tove still serving pop perfection but there's still room for Tove to grow.
33. Azealia Banks, Slay-Z [Mixtape]
[Along The Coast]
[Big Talk]
Quote:
Her weakest effort to date is her most top 40 sounding, yet she still has the ability to bounce effortlessly between genres and serve personality. Love this lunatic bitch and I'm waiting for her to get well, or at least well enough to release another album.
32. Britney Spears, Glory
Quote:
Her best since FF. I mean that was only two albums ago but that's a big accomplishment for Britney considering how garbage BJ was. You wouldn't expect Britney to make a recover after that. This was huge.
31. Noname Gypsy, Telefone [Mixtape]
Quote:
Noname is the most relatable and personable rappers to come. If this album doesn't warm your heart you have no soul. Such sweet, soft and soulful songs and instrumentals that compliment her delivery, lyrics and content.
30. Anderson Paak, Malibu
Quote:
In 2016 this man has done so much and worked with so many artists. He's crazy talented and this album is almost too good for a new artist. Why so low? It's the replay value for me. It's great on a good day but I don't come running back to listen to it in full as I do with others.
YG and Anderson were fantastic. Absolutely perfect choices. I needed to hear the YG album just a little more for it to place on my list, but its still so good. Won't say too much about VIEWS...
I know a few Noname songs and I like them so i'll check out her album! As for Kero Kero Bonito you'd think I'd love them but for some reason I just don't.
Painting With was really nice, low-key listened to it, like, once only since its release month though. Malibu is obviously quality and Slay-Z, as disappointing as it turned out, had a bop or two as well.
Lady Wood, on the other hand, is possibly my least favourite record of the year, I despise Tove
Noname and Anderson
Would prefer if they were higher up on your list but eh
God I was waiting on a Noname project ever since Acid Rap and she delivered so much
Both projects truly warm my heart like a hot cup of tea
Views was very disappointing for me. Weakest album to date. TC and NWTS remain unbothered.
I've seen lots of love for YG's album so I'll check it out soon
Tove really had me fooled with Cool Girl. From what I remember, it was the only interesting track on the album. Everything else bored me
Is the Tove Lo album really that good? I mean, I couldn't get through "Lady Wood" the song. It's insufferable. Is it going to be a Kimbra-like scenario where I hated the one song, but wound up liking the rest of the album?
"Best Animal Collective album since 2009", and I have not listened to it. Good lord, I am the dirt worst.
Painting With was too same-y for me That said, Lying in the Grass is the best AnCo song released this decade. Bonito Generation, Still Brazy and Malibu are all really enjoyable
YG's didn't leave much of a lasting impact on me but his album was better than his first one. Painting With > Centipede HZ. Noname + Anderson are amazing artists in general.
