"Womanizer", "Circus", and "3" all spent months inside the Top 10. Longevity >> #1. And they sold extremely well. And of course, being the #1 single is the best thing you can do on the chart.. as it is #1.
I don't know. I like when songs spend more than one week at #1, because it just makes the accomplishment seem a little more legitimate. When a song jumps to #1 because of digital sales and then falls off, people sometimes write it off. Fortunately, the Britney singles have also gone to #1 on pop radio and had longevity.
Ugh, Grenade needs to die now. Marry You is so much better. And it's time for WTH, HIAM, and possibly still The Time to have their oppurtunities.
WTH & HIAM will both be making big impacts next week. HIAM is looking like the next Hot 100 #1, WTH may or may not sell enough to debut in the Top 10 (airplay is still really low - it has to hold up very well).
The Time has peaked but I think it will be spending many more weeks in the Top 10. It's not quite done yet
