She was literally everywhere from radio, TV, and movies during those eras. Her image was way more "manufactured" due to Matthew's way of managing her career. She rarely cursed, got upset, and made an effort to not show any emotions. She was completely guarded. She even kept her relationship with Jay a mystery for years.
Beyoncé right now is the most vulnerable and authentic she's been in her entire career, musically speaking. Y'all CAN'T be serious.
The woman doesn't do interviews, promo, nor does she properly even release singles. Failing to see how she's "overexposed"
No the new Beyoncé isn't real at all. The old Bey I grew to love and adore, who's music was my ish, was so real and full of life in interviews. The new Bey thinks she's above everyone, cusses people out, and does too many publicity stunts.
I do not miss her at all since I didn't like her much back then.
Musically she is more interesting to me so why would I miss when she did idiotic and annoying songs such as Irreplaceable. She sure was a more conventional popstar back then. But since I am a 'new' fan I like her more now.
Post December 2013 Beyoncé is the best Giselle

Too preoccupied with maintaining a larger than life and "perfect, above y'all" image.
I miss the old version, not digging the new Bey.
You sure did love the "new Beyoncé" a few weeks ago though

OT: There is no such thing as a "New Beyoncé" or "Old Beyoncé" Beyoncé is Beyoncé, stop shamming her for evolving and growing as an artist, there are plenty of other artist that make generic hits that you can stan for, since most of you here only stan for an artist if they chart well on the Hot 100.

Who has she cussed out? Lol.
And of course she did things like that earlier in her career. But as time went on, she became more "cold" towards the media because of how they treated her. She may he glorified now, but let's not forget how they've talked about her family so badly, accused her of wanting to be a white woman, saying she's some sort of devil worshipper Illumanti Queen, and much more. All which she addresses in 'Formation.' I don't blame her for becoming colder towards the media, but I feel musically she's more vulnerable than she's ever been.
Yeah 2000s Beyoncé was amazing
Hardworking, always gave interviews, humble. Kept her personal life personal and amazing singles.
Although to be fair her overall album quality has improved.

The media has never mistreated Beyoncé, the ****? Tabloids report on fake rumors about every star -- Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, the world's biggest stars are trash talked by the press. Beyoncé isn't some martyr, it's not like she went through horrific backlash periods like Michael Jackson, Madonna and the iconic Britney Spears (who for the record is still so humble, kind, down to earth). Let's be honest she milked her personal life since day one (she revealed her wedding ring in the Single Ladies video) so it's not like she didn't invite them in, in a way.

2000s Beyoncé >>>>> 2010s Beyoncé!!!
*jams to B'Day *
I mean, they went on and on and perpetuated the rumour that she didn’t even carry her daughter.
But yes, compared to some people, she’s had it easy, HOWEVER, that does not mean she has to take it sitting down. There's no scale of mistreatment needed for you to be able to protect yourself.

You better STAN for her 10 year old album. Her longevity >>>

When Vogue gives you something as massive as the September cover and you can't even give them an interview...that's so disrespectful to the publication.
When the BET awards give you an award and you ditch the event to get on your private jet, can't even give them a thank you speech...that's so disrespectful to the committee.
Take off your stan goggles for once, and you will see how much she thinks she's above everyone and everything...
Beyoncé seems stuck up nowadays, she was so sweet in her earlier years though (yaah she was shady in DC but at least she was real).

I miss the old Beyoncé.
At least Beyoncé always gives her all on stage to her fans who pay money to see her. At least Beyoncé doesn't turn up hours late to her shows and then gives half-assed performances. Not everybody does that.

Now you know damn well if rih landed a sept cover and didn't give an interview the navy would be chanting icon her power
She barely fit that performance into her touring schedule. We can only imagine how much oversight and planning it takes to move the stage, rehearse, have everything set up and coordinated with whoever is in charge of managing the set's location. Plus she has a family, she's a wife and a mother, she's allowed to put them first and take a break. Not saying thank you isn't a big deal when she spent her own money importing all that water to the stage just to give something back to the community.
And for the record if you actually watch the interviews she does give and the message she puts out in her music you'll see she's still a grounded person. The media puts her on a pedestal which is why at her own concert she had a giant message across the cube read "GOD IS GOD I AM NOT"
You might miss the old Beyoncé but she's not a 20 year old anymore, she's definitely more mature and if you don't like that you should stick to people like rihanna (who's already transitioning with anti )

When you decline Vogue an interview for their September issue but they still put you on anyway, that’s power.
When you surprise viewers with a special performance at the BET awards, creating a highlight of the night and then leave shortly after because you have a tour date across the ocean, that’s work ethic.
Take off your hater goggles for once and enjoy it all. She’s doing amazing things and is still as sweet as ever.

This is why I can't stand the new Beyoncé. That's so try-hard and cringey, no offense.

Yaah, maybe because the thread is about the new Beyonce???
Not everyone has to love her, the media has praised her non stop for so long that any bad word about her becomes unnatural to the hive's ears. Sorry that's not normal.
