Funny because I actually had the exact opposite reaction - this sounds SO epic to me
It sounds like the strong, definitive female empowerment anthem that they've always said they want to create.

Shelven, you can add this to the OP please (even though it doesn't sound like the same song, but apparently it is)

And why didn't you mention this is the second single in the OP?

I'll add the snippet. I didn't say it was the second single because that technically hasn't been confirmed yet - there's been no official announcement or radio impact date.

Yeah, I have a problem with the title as well. Not a lot of songs that cater to women are successful except for Single Ladies and California Girls but that's because the MVs went viral. So I hope the girls pull through with the MV.

I'd argue that only Single Ladies got success due to its music video. California Gurls just hit the music scene really well at the time, and there was tons of hype surrounding Katy Perry after her first era did so well. I don't even think I saw California Gurls's music video until after it had already smashed, so I don't think the video was the sole reason for the song's success.
I honestly believe that the quality of the song will supersede the targeting of the lyrics. Given how incredible of a lead single Work From Home was, I trust that Epic/Maverick picked a strong second single that they're confident can do well.
