Taylor Swift on Good Morning America
Taylor Swift was live on Good Morning America this Sunday morning to give exciting news about a certain something she's taking apart of. After tweeting some subtle hints leading up to the big reveal today, including things like, "To him, she's eternally bound", "She'll run away to find peace", which fans have speculated are lyrics. Swift also dropped hints of new music being released soon after tweets such as, "I hate being gone for too long", "Things are changing, I can't wait for you to see how. Summer's gonna be great."
Swift tweeted that she would be on the morning television program Good Morning America last night at 8PM EST. "GMA tomorrow. Make sure to tune in. I think you'll like what you'll see" was what the biggest female in pop music tweeted last night. Right on queue this morning on GMA was Taylor who was introduced after a weather report. After greeting the host politely Swift was quickly asked how she was doing, and if the rumors about the detoriation of her realtionship with fiancé Brendon Urie were true. Swift chose not to comment, saying "You know, I'm gonna leave you hanging on that one. You have to wait for the music to find out." The audience chuckled and groaned with frustration and humor.
It was soon after that Swift did the big reveal. "Taylor tell us what you brought us today, won't you?" the host asked a evidently excited Swift. "I brought you a special something. It's the single cover and clip of my brand new single with none other than Paige Elliot. I hope you guys like it and here it is."
Following the premiere Swift commented on the song saying, "The making of the song was kind of the opposite of making Swarovski. With Swarovski we kind of knew we had a hit on our hands. It went on to do wonders for our careers. Mostly Paige's because she's never really been used to extensive success in music. She's always had that more in the acting department. But anyway, yeah, she came over with the idea, we wrote it, recorded it, and that's how it happened. We had no intentions of really making it a single. Neither did her label. They kind of thought it was too uh risky, you can say. But I got the call literally like yesterday that Paige was making it the single. That's the thing you know, though? We had success with a single and this song is really just about us achieving success for ourselves. This song means a lot to us. We were behind everything about it. From the artistic direction, to the cover art, to the video we're shooting, it's all us."
After the massive success of their last collaboration, Taylor Swift and Paige Elliot have officially released their second collaboration single. Unlike the first song, "Swarovski", which was listed as a duet, "Psycho" credits Elliot as the main artist and features Swift, even though the song features almost equal vocal sections from the girls. The song is also notable for featuring background vocals from Elliot's younger sister, Angel Brooklyn.
The song features production by Brazilian electronic producer Amon Tobin, known for his productions productions of glitch, IDM and electronica. The song was written by Elliot (credited with her maiden name, Brooklyn) along with Swift and Tobin. Other writers include Tor Erik, Mikkel S. Eriksen and Jean Baptiste.
Also paired with the single was an acoustic version of the single, also produced by Tobin along with help from Matthew Bourne and Sam Hobbs.

Written as a "psycho love story", according to Paige, the song features references to an abusive relationship. When asked about the meaning of the song, she said the following: "It actually IS about an abusive relationship... But it's not completely one-sided. In the song, we reference a 'psycho man' and a 'psycho girl'. Both are crazy people in a relationship together. The song is meant to sound biased, mostly about the girl and how she feels, making it seem like it's about her being abused, but there's more to it than that. There are strong hints that she's just as bad to her boyfriend as he is to her, and that's how we wanted it to sound. The man is mentally abusive and is absolutely crazy, but the girl is bad, too. It started with him being crazy, but she descends into this world of insanity from being in a relationship with him. It's just a psycho love story. They're both ruining each other and themselves."
"It's just a toxic relationship," Taylor followed up to Paige's explanation. "Like Paige said, the song is meant to sound biased against the man in the relationship, but both people are just as bad. It's not about a specific relationship, to be honest, but Paige came up with the idea out of nowhere and ran over to my house to tell me about it, and we had the song written in about two or three hours. Of course, later, we had some minor edits by some other writers of ours. She then called Amon Tobin, this amazing Brazilian producer that she was working with for her upcoming album, and said that she definitely wanted him to produce this... We finished recording, editing and mixing all within a few weeks, and it was almost kind of shocking because it was so quick, but the song ended up perfectly. I'm so happy with the result."
The production of the song features a plucked acoustic guitar playing out a melody, along with "spinning" bass bellows and ethereal vocalizations in the background, provided by Elliot's younger sister, Angel Brooklyn. The song also has heavy drums throughout, in time with each vocal line. Elliot compared the percussion in the song to "stomps for the kicks, and key rattlings for the claps". The chorus has a lack of kick drums, only having the claps along with air-like synths and strong use of the melodic guitar. After the third chorus, a middle 8 lacks lyrics, only having vocalizations from Elliot and Swift (and some by Brooklyn), along with a continued production until the end where a looped guitar is played over the repeated chorus.
The acoustic version of the song uses a completely revised instrumental featuring twangs of orchestral instruments, along with a strong violin melody played and the use of a piano. Also included is a more subtle, understated percussion, forcing the listener to focus more on the vocalization of the singers rather than on the instrumental. Revisions were also made to the lyrics, removing an entire chorus and removing four lines from the bridge.

Fill her mind full of doubt
Build her up to tear her down
Drive the blood from her veins
Ruin her life like you want
Let her burn in the flames
Strike the match, light the gas
Push all her buttons again
Trick the light out of her soul
Little thing will go insane

Looks like Paula isn't the only one cooking up a controversial music career - Rachel Ray left the kitchen and went into the studio with Zedd to produce a fiery dance track that goes off hard, both sonically and lyrically!
Rachel Ray's debut single takes shots at the former cooking chanteuse Paula Deen, with lines such as "That greased up pig and **** to me/I am the new HBIC" and "Your career's dead - you'll follow suit, my cooking ***** all over you", it's evident, even without a name-drop, which former cooking femcee Rachel Ray is talking about.
