I love how everyone says the bible is against homosexuality however, it could be argued there is no hebrew word for homosexual and didn't appear in any translation of the Christian Bible til 1946. The Jewish people thought they were the chosen people so they chose and created laws to differentiate themselves from the pagans of the era who would commit homosexual acts for their gods. Whether or not, David and whats his face were doing the do or wanted to be with each other doesn't matter because on the basis of Jewish law it was wrong. It can also be argued that its cultural law more so than moral law like eating pork, etc.
However, leviticus a man shall not lie down with another man like a man lie down with a woman. I take as a man shouldn't sleep with a man if he got a woman at home waiting for him.
Religion is one of those things in life that need to be left alone. Despite me not being a believer in God nor do I agree with some of the beliefs of his followers, I respect that religious people can and will have their own opinions, no matter how offensive those opinions may be to me as a person.

To be fair it's only in modern times that men showing affection towards other men was seen as a sexual thing. Most older cultures didn't have these barriers and of course you can translate and interpret this stuff in all kinds of ways.
That said, some biblical scholars actually do consider their relationship as homoerotic and if it actually is based on real people then their relationship could well have been. We really don't know and it really doesn't matter because nobody should be looking to the bible to justify who they are. Even if you do believe in god it is a completely ridiculous thing to do.
I'm a catholic and even I take everything in the Bible with a pinch of salt, at the end of the day, no matter what you believe in, the only thing that truly matters is your bond with God or whatever you may believe in.
People may want you to believe homosexuality is wrong or not supported by the Bible but that is their opinion and their cultural upbringing, personally I like that in 2014 it is becoming more socially acceptable, gay marriage is a move in the right direction, I love that I live in the UK because of that.
So yeah I don't preach bible verses and what not, the bible can teach you a lot about being a good person but at the end of the day its what you take from it that matters not whether it is factual or not or translated correctly (again in my opinion), but its still based on the past and this is the present day

Anyway there a lot of stories in the bible of people doing things that aren't moral or right it doesn't make it ok. Moses killed a man and there was a guy who slept with both of his daughters. Just because the bible mentions it doesn't mean that kind of behavior is acceptable.
