This video in particular is stunning and enticing, i just wish that i could understand what they are singing
Yes! You should download the album. It's good!
And I can't understand the lyrics either, but it's not a problem for me. I feel like all pop songs are the same everywhere and you can get a gist of the meaning if necessary by looking it up.
Yeah. All of the western girl groups are so basic I can't think of any that don't try to pull the "boss bitches/fierce!" persona all the time. There's more effort put into training kpop groups, making videos, they aren't as limited to typical American pop producers (although there are a ton of Brave Brother songs in Korea I guess)
Okay, Worth It is about to be certified in its 8th of the top 10 countries with the biggest music markets.
Name one KPOP single from a girl group that has done this.
There are SEVERAL SNSD and 2NE1 singles that have outsold Worth It in just one country, so who cares. And you expecting Korean songs to smash globally is pure delusion.
Girls' Generation >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> your faves
That said, Kpop production is slick because of the financial investment injected into the idols since they're in their tweens. That industry is all about money and not about artistic merit; a lot of the girls in these videos go home to a dormitory at the end of the night.
I agree. There's something very neo-slavery about these acts, no offense. I mean they are better than the current western pop girl-groups, but still...
Surprisingly there actually IS a logical reason why Korean Pop Music is running circles around the west in production value and concepts. The modern Korean music industry is literally not even a decade old yet, and they're a lot more willing to spend money on different things to see what works and try and cash in on the market. Where in the west we only have R&B influenced girl groups, in Korea you've got electronica girl groups, 80s SAW Kylie Minogue concept girl groups, hip hop girl groups, retro girl groups, EDM groups, disco groups, British synth pop girl groups, rock/metal influences girl groups, 90s teenybopper, etc etc etc
Let's not even talk the logistics about how much money they splash on their MVs, too. Western MV values are comparatively pittances
They are very 1999-2004 Britney Spears...
The only reason why they work so hard on many different aspects is because of their labels constantly pushing them and milking everything they are worth. I wonder how this will turn them psychologically.
