This is kind of a mess. But it's inspired me to do my own countdown so thanks for that.
Here for LFL being #1.

Any song that Drake could release that causes me to do anything but skip past him with HASTE probably deserves to be on this list. I suspect for many a gay, this was the first single post-Amanda Bynes stanning that we actually had a hope in hell of clicking with. And finally Drake served that gay-friendly, radio bop with a smash hit meme vid to boot. When will Gaga? But seriously, great song, sexy voice, introduced some new vocab to the everyday peasant and reminded us just what on our bodies we want him to murder.

Your graphics are just plain cruel.
This is the most delicious thing I've seen and the smore's look nice too
Nice write-ups and my mouth is legitimately watering now.

Alright, time for numbers 40 - 36.
40 is actually a track from 2014 (my mistake!), but I only heard it this year and can't be bothered thinking of something to replace it with.

40. Heroes (we could be)
(ft. Tove Lo)
– Alesso
If you haven’t heard this song, I suggest you hop to it cause it’s a get-up-and-move (a great Koda Kumi song BTW) kind of BOP! I first came across it at the gym as my Body Pump’s class squat track, so I have suffered many a squat (still no ass – dafuq?!) to this track. Of course, the intensity required for a squat track is high, so only the most upbeat, great bops make the cut – and fair enough this Alesso slayage was served to us fat bottomed plebs! “We could be herroooooeeess!” What kind of slay?

39. Immortals
– Marina and the Diamonds
About time a legitimate fave of mine got in here, but sadly down the list at 39. Oh well, this isn’t the last time you’ll be seeing Froot pop in this countdown. Truth be told I really like darker songs with darker themes, I’m not the most upbeat person all the time and these are the songs I connect with. Death and mortality is scary, and I think Marina managed to sing about it without getting too depressing or morbid. “I’m forever chasing after time, but everyone dies.” What a lyric! I think it’s a great finale to the album too, as it starts off with “Happy,” talking about realizing life can be happy after being depressed forever, and then the album ends with this – the realization that no matter what, happy or sad, we will all die.

38. ‘Til it Happens to You
– Lady Gaga
Yes I know her voice is not “beautiful” here, but that’s kind of the point in itself right? It’s a song about surviving sexual assault, whether it be rape or anything else, and honestly tells the story of what it must feel like to go through someone violating you as a person, and then having to go on with people voicing their opinion on how to help you when they don’t know. Fortunately I have never experienced any assault, and lucky as a male it certainly happens rarely. It was brave of Gaga to release this track, and as a ballad it actually is great. Once the chorus gets the backing vocals, it really is catchy. Pleased to see the song is nominated for a Grammy too, good luck to ha!

37. FourFiveSeconds
– Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney
I actually bought this song on iTunes one day in a rage when it wasn’t on Spotify and I wanted to listen to it on a road trip, but it turned out not to be such a bad purchase. It was a very un-Rihanna song, and it was nice to see her do something different. Kanye and Paul McCartney on the guitar was a pretty cool touch, and the whole song just has a very unique vibe. Unexpected, and a shame it didn’t come accompanied by a great album. A year later and we still don’t have it – gal is trolling, or her work on her album has been a huge mess. I suspect a bit of both, but particularly the later. Suppose she keeps wanting to outdo herself, but then keeps taking so long she gets over the tracks or her label is pushing for something else. We’ll know in time – but I suspect (well, expect!) ANTi is better than anything else she’s put out. Shouldn’t be hard to trump Unapologetic anyhow…

Haha fair enough. Comparing our rates, our music taste is pretty different. I went for a long walk last night and listened to the entirety of FROOT and it really is a phenomenal album. Her best album hands down as far as I'm concerned.
Thanks for breaking up my endless posts.

36. Iconic (feat. Chance The
Rapper & Mike Tyson)
– Madonna
While patiently waiting for my Rebel Heart Tour date (March 5 Auckland, hurry up!), I decided to treat myself and listen to the first, and first only, performance from the tour, which just so happens to be the opening number “Iconic.” Boy oh boy am I snatched! The staging, the costumes, the back-up dancers, the hanging upside down on a pole. Queen continues to outdo her half-her-age contemporaries with ease. Anyway, back onto the song, the unlikely inclusion of Mike Tyson’s talking on the intro and Chance The Rapper, rapping naturally, turned out far better than your usual white-girl-dial-a-rapper song. The positive message contained within the darker sound is great, and it’s just an interesting moment in the middle of Rebel Heart. The release may have been messy (out of her control of course), but the content was amazing. I don’t think anyone would be able to watch this performance at the tour without loving the song afterward.

That's today's update done (what a flop!), will be interested to hear feedback if anyone reads this / has any.
