superbitch,
If you want to see a performer, there's always the circus. Heck, wasn't that the name of one of Britney's tours?

I would go to a thousand Barbra Streisand and Adele concerts before one Britney Spears concert. With Britney, you can be sure she's either miming or reciting the words to playback or making a generally poor effort at the art of stretching her vocal cords.

I think it gets boring after awhile to literally watch someone just stand and sing. wanting someone to actually use their body, at least a bit, to convey the emotion of a song does NOT equal wanting big theatrics. why aren't some understanding this? i would like it for a bit but then i'd get a bit bored. there is nothing wrong with saying or feeling that....

The things I want to say right now, but I shall refrain.
Anyway, I would see Adele 500 times, no matter how boring this reviewer thinks she is.

Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion - those kinds of performers whose amazing voices alone are supposed to be the entertainment value put me to sleep.
It's a matter of taste.

I've seen Celine Dion twice! She puts on a great show, and you can't argue with her numbers. To each their own.

Arena shows are typically splashy affairs, the kind of performances that involve fire or a horde of backup dancers or big screens, and fancy lights. Adele, however, does not subscribe to this performance philosophy.
The Air Canada Centre was cut in half Wednesday night, giving the arena an amphitheatre vibe, and the lampshade-decorated stage suited the mood of the music superbly. But the night was less about atmosphere and more about Adele’s voice — and man, can she sing.
Opening act The Civil Wars — an indie folk act from Nashville — told the audience that they might have scratchy voices due to an intense karaoke session the night before. But the allegedly raucous singalong didn’t seem to affect Adele, who hit every note without a fumble. On stage, Adele is a magnetic presence. The British songstress is highly animated, using her hands to punctuate the messages in each song.
It isn’t surprising that Adele would be a karaoke enthusiast; she has an obvious affection for covers. In a set comprised of album favourites and a dash of new material, she also performed three covers — If it Hadn’t Been for Love by The Steel Drivers; Lovesong by the Cure; and Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan — and she owned each one so hard that half the audience probably would have thought they were her songs to begin with (if she hadn’t properly introduced them beforehand).
Even in such a large room, Adele’s voice soared with a rich, fluid sound that filled the ACC all the way to the rafters. She was helped by the packed house, whose voices echoed back to her all night.
For an artist who has become famous for singing about heartbreak, Adele sure knows how to lift a crowd. She makes sorrow look and sound like something gorgeous.
Verdict: With a voice as compelling as hers, Adele is right to leave the theatrics to the artists who really need them.

Look, if you're looking for voices that amaze, you look for artists like Barbra Streisand, Mama Cass, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack, Maxine Nightingale and Adele.
If, on the other hand, you want to see a female dress and move like a stripper, you can go to a Britney or Rihanna concert.

Who wouldn't want to be a part of one of the most successful tours of all time?

They do concerts. Britney puts on an actual SHOW. There's a difference.
Because of that, they will never be recognized as one of the best PERFORMERS of all time, unlike Britney and Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Usher... who can put on a show.

Put on an "actual show?"
Actual show =/= miming, stiff choreography and being a stage zombie 75% of the concert. Beyonce, Justin and Usher are to be put in the "actual show" category, not Britney.
Reportable, but I don't care.
I don't see how you get an actual show from a Britney concert. That's backwards. But that's neither here nor there.
Britney and Adele are two different types of performers with two different performance styles. Britney is a "dancer" (and I use this loosely) who performs at big arenas; Adele is a singer (who sings live - I must stress) who performs at small venues. They are obviously targeting different demographics.
