What is with this sudden crop of music videos directly attempting to go "viral" but falling way short???
"Birthday," "One Last Time" and now "I Really Like You" have unique concepts that have translated poorly.
Tom Hanks is an iconic actor, but either his lip-syncing was tragic or the editor had no idea what he was doing. This video was cringe-worthy to watch and randomly throwing in Justin Bieber to attempt to get views was cheap.
For a comeback single, they should have focused the video on Carly.
The video will for sure not promote the song. It really should have been about her throughout the whole vid, and I'm sorry but Tom Hanks is a great actor but his acting here is bad.
Her management clearly over-thought it. Take a sunny beach, Carly, a hot male model, throw surf boards in and film them from sunrise to sun set with a nice party and a kiss in the end and there you have your vid that would have been over played by MV televisions till June/July. Interscope really has trouble managing their artists' careers.
