Why on earth would you argue against "Try" and "Daylight" being pop songs?
And in either case, pop music refers to
popular music. All of these songs appeal to a broader, more general audience than a specific following. Not to mention, pop songs draw thematic inspiration from love and relationships. The only one that doesn't fit that category is "Thrift Shop," but even then, it draws attention with its catchy hook.
Not to mention, if Scream & Shout qualifies as pop, how do SN and DYWC not?
