To be fair, most aspects of a person's personality/life choices/etc. are very much related to environmental factors. Genetic + environment seems like a believable enough basis to me. The thing with environmental factors is that what they shape is still a strong part of who you are. While these homophobes might think otherwise, environmental factors are not usually "chosen" by the person they affect, nor can you reverse their effects overnight, if at all (most can never be fully "reversed" or whatever. And I'm not just talking sexuality here)

Regardless of what the actual determinants are, being gay is most certainly not some choice one makes along the lines of what shirt to wear, what TV show to watch, what song to listen to, ,or what food to eat. Homophobes really just need to shut up

Who said homosexuality is a civil right? Fighting against the unjust denial of peace and equal treatment because of completely insignificant aspects of your humanity (race, sex, sexual orientation, gender) is what the civil rights movement is about. I am gay, nothing will change that, and I don't want to be treated like **** because of that when I go ask for a job, housing, medical treatment, getting married, ect. or simply because I exist.

All religion is chosen behavior, even if you were indoctrinated. You choose to do some of the stuff that a book says (or what someone else tells you the book says).

And they are right to an extent. There are twins with different sexual orientations so I doubt it's genetic (unlike race).
There are many religious ex-gays who think they can be/have been converted. Many still regard sexuality as who you sleep with and not who you are attracted to, which is where the behavior comes into it.

Best example I can think of is when a vegan is still tempted by meat() yet remains vegan by choosing not to act on natural impulses.

Being black and being LGBT is not be the same thing, but both groups have been demanding the same thing: equal treatment under the law and protection from unjust and dehumanizing acts (slavery, "conversion" therapy, abuse, bullying).

These morons. Always forgetting two things that that Bible says supersedes all other verses in the bible.

A Ten Commandment that says love thy neighbor. And the verse that that says “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” No man on earth has not sinned and therefore cannot judge or he will be condemned.

And Jesus never once mentioned homosexuality; every other verses in the Bible has mentioned things like adultery, murder, etc more times than the one time mentioned by the New Testament. Call me a spade but seems that the other sins are more "serious" than homosexuality.
