Neither "Sweat" or "GMG" fit that tone and they both flopped, where as "Sorry" did alright in the R&B world and fits the sound I think they're going for.
I also think its safe to say the June 4th date will stick, I'm pretty sure the people over at Epic are tired of re-working and pushing the same album for damn near a year now with pretty much nothing to show for it.
That being said, it'll be interesting to see how they handle the next two months of this project, because they are crucial. The promo is going to need to be sick to help build hype for the album. They should try to get her to perform at the MTV Movie awards, Billboard awards, and American Idol (closer to the finale/her release date).

Well... then they should've chosen the right singles and really promote/push them.
It's not only Ciara her fault and they [Epic] chose to sign her, so they should work with and for her to let the singles become a success.
I mean, look how fast they ditched Sweat.

I'm not surprised about Sweat being dropped from the tracklist because that song is a mess. Got Me Good is a bop though... I really don't care what makes the album as long as I get Overdose in full HQ.

I didn't say it was her fault, did I? It's been super obvious from the start that LA Reid and his team are involved in the decision making. And they ditched "Sweat" due to the negative reaction it got from the GP when it was released.

It just doesn't seem like it'll fit in on the album They don't want no Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded sized disaster.

How is Body part doing? has it been released on itunes yet? has it been sent to radio if so any updates?.
I hope she also has Up Tempo songs on this album. I also hope she has a second more pop single out before the album drops because Body Part will not give this era the start is deserves.

As some of you know, OWA was one of the albums I worked on late last year and January. The album was essentially PF:RR - the first part was hip-hop, then R&B, then pop and the last three tracks were the most insane dance tracks.
There was major behind-the-scenes conflict, as the UK label wanted the PF:RR-style album and were prepared to co-fund the album in-return for dedicated promo, but the US label felt it was too risky. The end result will be the bastardised album coming out in June, which is going to be half the original album, and a very safe R&B sound.
It is unlikely OWA is being released outside America in any major capacity, so the shelf-life will be quite short. That's a good thing, as a much better album is in-waiting.

Not surprising. It's obvious they're focusing on Urban only. However if they cut Overdose... I wouldn't be shocked though, but ugh.

I hate when things like this happen. She should just release an EP with the poptracks in EU/UK and atleast give her fans something, especially with all those random overseas gigs she did last year

A much better album is in waiting? What's that even supposed to mean? They can't shelve something like Overdose that's already edging on being dated sounding. If what Maelstrom says is true I will be seriously disappointed.

Not sure how legit you are (no disrespect), but I can actually see this. My friend is besties with Livvi Franc (who wrote "GMG" and "Overdose") and he told me the same thing about the album. Not the label issues, but just the overall sound. I think CiCi and Epic are simply gonna use 'OWA' to get her back in good standing with urban America, and then use her next LP to get her back in good with Pop/Top 40 as well as keeping her in good graces with Urban America.

This would honestly would be the best thing to do. Getting her back on "top" will take some hard work, dedication and time from everyone invloved(label,l.a, her management & ciara herself).

They should at least get this album over 300k before moving to another one. She needs to show people she can still sell. I know she can.

I'd be surprised if this album pushes 200k overall.
