Nah she still uses it because its legal thing. She got out of her contract with Def Jam by settling in court with a name change and Def Jam owns right to Amerie!

yeah it is but thats how the label legal stuff work. She had previously signed a deal with them back in 2008 for so many albums and she left because LA Reid left. So thats the main reason why she was fine with changing her name or adding an extra letter!
I know right! But I think her manager is the only reason why she can't be successful. People just don't wanna work with him after he destroyed Nas' career
