It makes me think that the writing credits in RRR are from the demo KC heard, not from Tokio Hotel's version on their CD.

The only thing I know is that the original writers aren't profissionals. They should've told her label the song had been given to another artist/band at first.

True. I don't know why they wouldn't have let someone on Kelly's side know they were going to sell it to another band if Kelly wasn't releasing it soon or something. Very unprofessional from the songwriters.

They're a fantastic band, and you not knowing of them doesn't change that. You need to check yourself. 
Kelly just made an innocent mistake. No need to criticize her. I love Tokio Hotel, though, and I hope she gets into them and explores their discography now.

yes, that is possible. But either way, Kelly does not need to credit them on her album if she did not use their version. Also, I don't mean to discredit TH, I actually like their version and the instrumental, I just think it is an unfortunate situation which was not handled in the best way.

someone made a mistake somewhere along the line, but it was not Kelly. She was given a song in 2013 and liked it so she recorded it, there is no mistake in that.

I agree, if the demo she received of the song was the initial demo before TH ever touched it, then they don't need to be credited.
However there are people in this thread claiming Tokio Hotel got the writing credits on their version by changing four words in the lyrics, which is a baseless and unfair assumption, especially for people who don't even know the band.

I didn't mean to imply that Kelly is to blame for this. I meant "innocent mistake" as in she didn't know of the original artist. I think the blame lies with the original writers in not informing Kelly's team or label that they had given the song to someone else.

I think it is in response to the fact that they are calling it a "cover of their song", which is fairly misleading since it is really not.

Gurl.. that is the biggest overstatement. Tokio Hotel is decent at best, even as a stan I can admit that. Their new album shows growth though.

Then they seem to be misinformed and think Kelly based her song on their version when it is actually based on the same demo they used, which is a mistake on their part but still doesn't have anything to do with how they acquired the writing credit on their version let alone give anyone the right to accuse them of 'stealing' it.

Clearly, Kelly didn't change any words on the song so it is still the original song that she received. Someone should compare her lyrics with TH's lyrics and see if they are the exact same. If it isn't and there are indeed "four words" that are changed, then TH shoved their asses on the writing credit for those "changes" and Kelly has no need to even include them on the writing credits.
