Rabiosa is great, and Tu Boca, Lo Qué Mas and Devocíon. The album was a great crowd pleaser compared to She Wolf.

Honestly, I'm starting to find myself getting very disappointed in Shakira. And this is coming from a super-fan.

And no, I'm really not one of these broken records about Shakira's initial crossover. I've loved Shakira so much, and every time she's done something not ideal, I've found myself sticking up for her, but I'm sick of doing that anymore. I've honestly felt like ever since the Sale El Sol era in general, Shakira has just become so slack.

I just don't see a DRIVE in her anymore. When she came out in 2001 with Whenever WHerever/Laundry Service, she was SO FIERCE in everything. In 2005 she came back strong with La Tortura and even when Don't Bother failed to make an impact, she came back harder with Hips Don't Lie and ruled the world. With She Wolfs failure she came back harder with Waka Waka, but ever since Sale El Sol everything she has done has been subpar.

When I initially heard th news about Get it Started I was so excited, and when I heard the song I loved it. I was thinking, Shakira is finally getting her drive back to rebuild her place in the business. But the impression I'm getting is anything but that. She pays NO attention to her own career. It's almost as if Music is now not her career. I mean, if she straight out said that she's just not as interested, I would be much more satisfied. She doesn't push her own music, puts no effort into driving it, and god damn it, I get super frustrated when people say "It's not Shakiar's single, it's pit bull's job to promote it".
Umm, no. it's still Shakira's song. And she obviously participated and shot the video with th intention of it becoming a wel-recognised worldwide single, and yet she does nothing to do it.
Shakira has almost started to give off this diva vibe, something which she never used to have.

she seriously places NO effort into her looks anymore. And I'm not one of those people who prefer her with eyeliner. She looked lovely even with a simple look in the 2005-2006 eras

but now she just looks scrappy. I'm not sure at all what's going on with her hair and her eye makeup is totally wrong which makes her eyebrows stand out.

I'm just so disappointed and over this Shakira. Yep sure sure I'm going to look like that classic whining Shakira fan who looks like he is never satisfied and always wants more. Well you know what? Yes I probably am, and I make no apologies for that, being a Shakira fan. I honestly don't know where the pre-2010 Shakira has gone.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. I hope I am. But at the moment this is the vibe I'm getting. And I make no apologies for stating my opinion.

It's got nothing to do with the US disliking her. She's still interesting. But she puts in zero effort into rebuilding her career. She thinks that she can just prance around in a video and look pretty and everything will be okay. She makes no effort to do interviews. She makes no effort to promote this herself. She makes no effort doing performances.

I strongly disagree. It is this mentality that is making the song flop.

Let's think of Shakira's past "successful" collaborations:
- Hips Don't Lie
Wyclef Jean was not the "main artist", but he talked about it EVERYWHERE. Outcome = hit
- Beautiful liar
Beyonce promoted heavily, Shakiar talked about it at a couple interviews and major press conferences (namely in NY). Outcome = moderate hit
- La Tortura
Alejandro Sanz talked about it in virtually every interview. Hit

And let's not just limit to Shakira. Thin of famous collaborations that are recent.
Somebody That I used To know: BOTH gotye AND kimbra promoted it equally. Kimbra even more.
We Are Young: Janelle spoke quite a LOT of the song
We Found Love: even though not a huge part of it, calvin harris talked about the song a lot.

A duet is a two-way game. It's not just a thing dominated by one person. I don't care if Pitbull is not promoting it. As far as I'm concerned, Shakiar isn't promoting it either.

What you're doing is just finding an excuse to discount Shakira's laziness.

This is not an attack to you, but I think a lot of people need to stop continuously defending Shakira. Believe me, I used to be one that kept defending her, thinking that things would eventually change but it's 2012. And she still hasn't budged. It's great that it's increasing in spins, but if they want it to be a hit, which the song is clearly designed for, then BOTH of them are going to have to work at it.

And facebook/twitter isn't exactly great advertising as not everyone has twitter, let alone follows the artist on Facebook. It is not a STRONG promoting device. We need INTERVIEWS, PERFORMANCES, visits to radio stations. I honestly hope that's what's happening with the new album anyway.
