Bey has been hip hop 10 years before Rih. even when she was 12 in Star Search the song she performed was HIP HOP and the judge called her group a "hip hop girl group".
obviously hip hop changes as a genre and RIHANNA has STRICTLY NOTHING TO DO with it. the real urban hit of Rihanna career (and the only one) is POUR IT UP. and it was nothing original. Bandz A Make her dance or Pop That are actually the original Pour it ups.
and this being said I don't even think Bey has been trying to follow Bandz A Make Her Dance. probably just the instrumental (similarities). the vocals and the arrangements that Bey put into SELF TITLED are out of the chain. and crirtics all agree. stop trying; 85/100 on metacritcs, already on 3 prestigious lists, grammy AOTY nominated BEYONCE remains unbothered as a masterpiece of Alternative R&B and Hip Hop.
