Demi handled this well. The truth is: Demi went to rehab and "matured" from her experiences. Miley's selling point is being young, outspoken, rebellious and uninhibited. Polar opposites, to be honest. Whatever relationship they had, whether forced or not, is now completely non-existent. I'm more curious to know where she stands with Selena, Taylor, etc.
But it was hardly believable. Demi had already left rehab - there's no way she could go back to the rebel Disney star like Miley did. The Neon Lights video didn't really show anything club-oriented except people dancing. No one was drinking nor was there anyone "turnt up." There's not much Demi can do now to achieve a surge of commercial success. Which is a shame.

Plus Demi clearly relapsed once after rehab. There was a lot of people she was hanging out with at that time that she totally cut off in early 2012.
Demi grew tired of a lot of the stuff that she did in the Unbroken era. on her current tour she focuses more on her earlier albums and DEMI.

And I've never **** shamed Miley, but saying she ****ed a Wrecking Ball is hardly inaccurate.

Yes, it's that easy. Kids will do what they want to do, just like any person in life does. You can warn them about 'harmful things', but ultimately it's their decision to look it up. Whether they choose to be inspired by what Miley does in her life is not her fault.
And even so, if Miley became a nun today, is that really gonna stop kids from discovering ****, seeing sexual-driven advertisements on billboards, hearing songs about sex on the radio, sexualized tv/video game characters, like the list goes on. This 'think of the children!' mentality literally never goes anywhere cause it's stupid to begin with.

Never heard a drug reference in Demi's music, the whole "partying" vibe was around the time she was still doing that stuff. When Unbroken was released she was clearly doing all of that.
She only really took her rehabilitation seriously once she started living in that sober living place. Her most recent album is more Disney than some of her earlier stuff. I personally hate this but it does prove that she's not really gone down the sex sells route.

Not really, the problems just much bigger than Miley Cyrus.
I'm not against sexual music and all that, nor is Demi she stanned hard for BEYONCÉ when it came out. Miley just did too much too soon. She was reckless in how she handled her transition.

so you think that's all it takes? controversy? Remember people didn't care about Demi's rehab era (that she still mentions until now) Gosh it's like you think making good music or not being an annoying little bitch has nothing to do with the success. People are not interested in Demi. that's it. She'll remain a B lister even if she took her clothes off (who would want to see that?)

I CAN'T @ the Miley stans trying to stir up drama from something plain and simple like this.
THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING IN COMMON ANYMORE SO THEY JUST DON'T BE BFFS ANYMORE.
So plain and simple. Demi did not criticized Miley's lifestyle or anything so why the **** do you have to make a fuss about it? JUST BECAUSE SHE'S NOT IN THE SAME PAGE WITH SOMEONE DOESN'T MEAN SHE HATES THAT PERSON OR BE A HYPOCRITE. GROW THE **** UP BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT LIFE IS.

I'm vocal in my criticism of Demi's music and how its not enough for her to be truly successful.
And people are clearly interested in her, the fact that she has 20+ million followers on Twitter and a lot of her non musical endeavors do well, the simple truth is her music fails to deliver except for occasional gem.
As for that last point, enjoy the WP bitch

Your entire argument being, "women can be sexual, but TOO sexual is not okay." (sexist, but gonna ignore it for now) is so backwards. Demi has grinded on dancers, sang about sex multiple times and you think kids won't get what she's talking about when she does this?
What an idiotic logic that you have to be naked to sexually influence children. And beyond that, Miley talking about drugs in her songs is the same as Demi getting caught snorting cocaine. If you're so desperate about protecting children and their morals, Demi is right up the alley of ruining it. Especially since her audience is younger than Miley's.

Well... Even though I dislike Demi, she's right, let's not act like y'all haven't stop talking to a person because you've grown apart, people change, start searching and trying to reach different things and that's why friendships sometimes end. I bet they still check out for each other anytime they're on an Award Show.

Child please stop with the reaching. Nothing sexist about my comment. We have entire laws protecting children from excessive sexuality. Miley ain't doing this **** for some feminist movement she's doing it for the thrill, attention and success. I remember her meltdown when she didn't get that VMA after the Blurred Lines performance. Bitch couldn't be out of that place fast enough.
As for Demi getting caught, yes she got caught, sought help and went out of her way to inform her fans about addiction so yeah she's still protecting more morals than dear old Miley.
Anyway none of this is relevant to the original post. Nothing Demi said in the answer to that question was malicious towards Miley, so there is no issue here.
